Just saw this film and I must say it was a really amazing epic.

Nice to see Ridley show Oliver Stone and Wolfgang Petersen how it's done.

Anyone else seen it yet? Opinions?

Muslims versus Christians the movie? What impecable timing! I can't wait to be handed pamphlets on Christianity when I head to the theatre this weekend. Gag me with a spoon.

Actually, you'll unlikely see any HC christians supporting this film considering how Christianity is depicted in it.

If you love movies, how can you not care about the new Ridley Scott movie?

I think the message of the movie is that Christians, Jews and Muslims can live together in peace, like they used to in Jerusalem before they started killing each other. As cheezy as it sounds it is conveyed rather well, although I felt an American vibe at the beginning (go to Jerusalem where everybody can be rich, in the land of the free and the brave yadda yadda). It isn't a masterpiece but a nice movie.

I think the bigger message is that fighting about which religion is the right one is absolutely absurd because none of them are right or wrong.

And yes, perhaps not a masterpiece but great nonetheless.

It was ok. Too much fake slowmo, but I'd say it was worth the $5 I paid to see it.

movie was great. I think more people expect action packed fun fest, and not a true dramatic experience, which it was. Gladiator, which a lot of people are comparing it to, is the exact same way. Big battle in the beginning, character development and drama until the next big battle in Rome, then the final dramatic closure.

Troy tried to do this and completely failed, since Petersen went more for action and decided to through away an awesome score and use the shit that James Horner spews out. Granted KoH at times did sound something like BHD, but for the most part it sounded like God of War. But since I tend to disect movie scores way to much, no one here cares about this.

Awesome movie, just a shame a lot seemed to be cut out by the studio fearing it was too long. Can't wait for directors cut of 4 hour awesomeness to be released this fall.

Im so tired of these big epic movies with huge battles. I had enough after the stuff in LOTR:ROTK, but apparently other people still like this :G

Anyway, Ridley Scott needs to do a new sci fi movie

I thought the movie was highly watchable and VERY relevant (which was obviously the point.)

The point at which the priest inside of Jerusalem (during the final attack) turns to Bloom and tells him that all poor people outside should die so that they can live, citing "it is God's will" was both heartbreaking and amazingly true of today's American ideals. There was much social relevance and some very subtle messages to the movie. Instead of explaining why muslims aren't evil bastards the movie simply chose to show them as humans who make human decisions and mistakes. You could have done the narrative from the opposite perspective and the movie would have changed very little.

Also Edward Norton is in it as a King Leper who wears a SILVER MASK. That's my ten bucks right there.
