Freshly announced, the next Fallout game!

In line with marketing of previous games, it's just a musical teaser with a glimpse of the new Vault.

I wonder if the content displayed here is the actual game or at least in engine, the fidelity would be astonishing for this kind of game.

I haven't played F4, despite is the first game I the series that really appealed to me, really curious to see what they do with this.

I was excited when I first saw the trailer, in the run up to the release I was waiting to be disappointed with a remake or something like a new Fallout Shelter. Now I'm not so excited again since a lot of people are quoting sources saying it's going to be like Rust or online and include lots of building (I hate building stuff in games).

I guess E3 will tell us more.

If that Elder Scrolls info above is true too then I'll be doubly sad!

This video connects all the available dots and bits from previous games. Turns out 76 was in the lore multiple times

i think most interesting info is the game should be set the earliest ever in the series (curious to see how they make it brighter as it looks it is and don’t mess up with previous material), and they suggest the mission of the people I in this vault is to “rebuild”, so @Beck sounds like the game could be centered around the mechanic. I mean considering the mechanic was very prominent in F4, and the success of games like Fortnite, I wouldn’t imagine them making this less relevant.

Yeah a lot of the "leaks" seem to be pointing in that direction. I ignored it in FO4 except for the mandatory quest near the start and for the most part it didn't affect me. I know you could get some of the best traders by building up your towns which kind of sucked and I saw some other people complaining that there were a lack of hub towns in FO4 since Bethesda wanted you to build your own in the different locations.

If this game centres around the building aspect I might just skip it. That's not Fallout for me.

The lack of existing hub towns makes sense, after all that's what you expect in an aftermath: people coming back together and the interesting part is the clashing of interests.

Not sure how I feel about it being multiplayer/online if its true. If its more a coop single player like borderlands or something more like Terraria with the base building focus with some added adventuring I would welcome such a change. But judging by Bethesda's recent actions, ESO being a lootbox extravaganza, Legends purely designed to milk its players and the paid mods they have pushed so hard. I cant help but worry the main design decisions revolve around "how can we sell as many lootboxes as possible"

I really hope I am wrong, but I would place a bet that it will be all about the lootboxes.

They're clearly passionate about their games and it's nice to hear how a lot of the original members from Oblivion and before are still there.

Sure their games are buggy sometimes and I'm kind of worried at the direction FO76 might be going in but the documentary made me a little less worried. E3 isn't far away now so I guess I don't have to worry for too long :P

Ok, I'm a little hyped about the new Fallout after watching the E3 presentation.

It's fully online with dozens of people (Dedicated servers!) but you can still play offline in single player if you wish. Map is 4x the size of FO4's map and you can build settlements with your friends which you can then move to anywhere you want on the map. There looks to be a few different biomes and new enemies and nuke silos dotted around the map which you can find launch codes for to use against enemies/players. What I like about the nukes is they leave behind a wasteland area with high end materials inside it.

I'm glad it still looks like Fallout underneath it all though. I probably won't bother with the building aspect but it'll be fun to play with my friends. Looking forward to 14th November!

There was no mention of offline singleplayer, only that you can play solo. With him also saying the game is "entirely online" it suggests that you can play without partying up but still in the online world. Also the wording on moving your base seemed a bit vague. Lots of people online seem to think you can move your entire base but to me it just suggested that you can move your CAMP and build elsewhere, leaving everything else you built behind. No idea how they can have large bases just pack away and be moved elsewhere, especially when you might have built into terrain features.

The presentation didn't really answer any of the important questions and actually seems like they were purposely vague or used words to dance around the questions.

From what I have seen it really does just seem like a rust clone but they are trying to present it more like a quest based fallout title by using very specific verbiage or generally being vague/misleading.

Not sure how to feel about it. If it's just a open ended multiplayer sandbox i will pass. If it's like Fallout 3/4 singleplayer but with other players in the game world i will be more interested.

Yeah, i feel weird about this one too. The whole thing just feels like an after thought and them trying to milk the fallout name, maybe I'm being too skeptical and mean towards it, its a fucking fallout game and I'll most likely play the living shit outta this, but we'll see.

It sounds like that but like Skybex pointed out, they might be vague on purpose.

I would speculate that if you play solo you will encounter settlements built by other players but there will be NPCs there giving quests/fighting you*.

    * Which would be the TLDR description of the basic system of the survival game I would like to build one day

A list of confirmed info here

    https://www.reddit.com/r/fo76/comment…_we_know_about/

No offline singleplayer. No human NPC's and quests are gained through holotapes or notes, but no info on non human NPCs. PVP is something they are encouraging. The game was also described as an "online service" in an interview with Todd Howard.

I'm still somewhat interested in it and lucky we will be able to get a lot of info from those who preorder and gain access to the beta. I imagine there will be plenty of youtube videos long before release to judge if you will part with your money for it. But based on what I am reading, there is no way I will be looking to play this solo. Much like all other survival games, it will quickly turn into a "kill anyone on sight" affair.

Nah not for me. Fallout is a single player game first and foremost in my eyes. It's not a game that comes to mind when I want to teabag someone.
