Sounds great Dann0! Getting paid for doing level design stuff is really a dream for me. One of the guys at Aalborg University also suggested that I should be the one teaching level design there:)

What sort of experience level are people going into the camp expected to have? Two weeks seems like a hugely short amount of time for a group of strangers to learn how to develop the component parts of a game and put together anything of significance. Great job for you Daan, no doubt, but I am kinda sceptical about the worth of the course for the people paying to go on it.

It's 1 week per group. 1 week to learn people the basics AND make a Half-Life mod. And to learn those nerds to do some sports and eat healthy at the same time. It's quite the week. We did this last year and 2 fun games got out of it. Very noobish of course but most of it worked. All games have some custom weapons, custom player models, some level, sometimes a custom skybox, the menu is changed and 1 cool new coded feature. Some custom textures. All custom levels. Some cool stuff

Oh and the experience level: Total beginner. Sometimes some experience, often with another engine.

Edit: Oh and the course is totally worth it i'm sure. It's just a nice week of vacation and at the end of the week those people actually learned something. Photoshop, Hammer, c++, gmax. It's a good start to get into game design.

Nazul you should take the course instead of teaching ~

Peris: No, not yet. HL1 is ideal because it's easy, there's lots of resources

edit : muuh , the 2 guys i knew that went there didn't know as much as me ( and that was 1 year ago ) when they came back .. BUT that was in the week that you weren't there so mox wasn't doing his job

Fine by me if i'd take the course I can learn from Teh Mastahzz

The 3rd week was kinda different because both Mox and i were not there. Fortunately we was able to go there 1 day to fix up stuff
