Just a model I made for practice purpose. I think it came out pretty ok. Modelling was pretty straightforward. Used UVW Unwrap to texture. Not too sure what i want to do with it. Maybe a small animation or a still render or try compositing into a photo or something

Now if you are using 3dsm make hard body out of it, put a wind modifier in behind it and make it blow like 10000 feet/min and look if it really flies.

OR you could do a cloth modifier on it, simulate and post the render of the results.

i would rather not use a UV map for the whole airplane. either you need a huge texture or the plane is gonna look quite blurry.

So the best way IMHO is using one mid res texture for the writing, the windows, the doors and stuff and using another low res texture for the rest of the plane.

sensee , the model isn't meant to be too detailed or high poly. The windows and doors aren't modelled. So texturing that region would be a pain and not of much use. Its just for practice to get the basics of UVW unwrap and stuff.

Peris~ I'll put 400 of you in the seats indoors :megaman::megaman::megaman:

Mazy , this isn't done yet. The jet will soon transform into a Skyline and give birth to another 1000 skylines in a animation~~~:roll::roll:

Water, Your Pink and Green lasers/missiles will NEVAR BE PART OF THIS !@?#

Lee3dee I'll try putting it among a group of planes on the ground, I've been fiddling with that. I think i've gotten the perspective right but my plane stands out too much. So clean and lighting and stuff dont go along well.

Thank you all for the replies

yes but you can make seperate faces for the writing, the windows area, and so on. so you could use the plane as a big acutal plane model in map without looking to blurry

but if it's just for practice, it's okay. good work btw!

A small 10sec animation (100kb) of the plane model in action. Well not really, its just rolling a bit. The background is just a photo. Basically I've just tried and got the plane placed right and have been fiddling with the lighting to match the picture. Check it out.
