So how well is everyone else holding up? :D

    Thanks for the anxiety :D

Actually been thinking this kind of thing recently.

Fixed the dates for my long leave from work, 7 weeks agreed. Now this is so late in the game that I'm not excited anymore at the perspective of going away, just worried if I will be able to afford it and most importantly if in a month I can organise a proper trip to Canada.

The CS mapping contest is providing distraction as well, as I'm trying to come up with a map for it.

    - Start exercising

    - Take Honeymoon (Planned and almost fully booked)

    - Finish current consulting job and turn into full-time job (failed to materialize into fulltime job)

    - Finish boat asset for portfolio (WIP)

    - Do 3 major portfolio scenes (No major scenes currently planned; working other assets/projects)

    - Finish UT4 map (failed/abandoned; not likely to pickup again)

Fail fast, fail often, failure is your teacher and the path to success.

At xmas this year I really wanted to leave my job at Creative Assembly and go back to freelancing so I could move closer to family and friends. I was probably the most fed up I've ever been in my life to be honest, and couldn't give a shit about the game I was working on (Halo Wars 2).

However, I can happily say that I've been back with Unknown Worlds freelancing for 2 months or so now and I'm having a great time, and I'm moving house this Saturday. Finally moving back to the West Midlands where the rent is half what it is down here near Brighton, and I can finally start the life I've wanted for ages but felt I couldn't have because there were no jobs in the area I wanted to move to. Really content right now. :)

There are downsides to every job, it's just unfortunate that in this case it happens to be a Welsh guy.

One of my main goal was to take the plane for the first time to get rid of this stupid fear of final destination heights.

Now it's done, I felt very stupid to be afraid about that. It was very cool (except the smell of the guy who thow up a few seats in front of me) and thanks to that I managed to visit Berlin.

Next time, get out of Europe.

Surprised not to find a post from myself in this thread, I must've thought about posting but forgotten to do it.

My goals for this year are to finish two maps and publish my portfolio. The portfolio and first map will be released next week, so it's looking up. :)
