    Still not entirely sure whether I think The Last of Us needed a sequel, but I absolutely trust that Naughty Dog will nail it, so far they haven't disappointed. Looks great so far.

    YES! :D i was at PSX and seeing this thing being anounced was dope

    Tlou is a true master piece with one of the most satisfying endings I've ever seen so whatever this turns out to be, it has some big shoes to fill

    "So much thought went into this - I know there's trepidation about going back to these characters. We feel that as well. No-one loves these characters more than we do, and we wouldn't do it if we didn't have the right idea. I had ideas with different characters and it didn't feel right. The Last of Us is about these two characters. All I ask is that fans of the first one put some faith in us - we're going to do right by you."

    I still need to play the first one properly, I've played several hours of it at friend's houses though.

    True story, I actually bought the game twice without being able to play;

    First time, I ordered the game from Amazon and it came without a disc! So I sent it back and got a refund because they were out of stock. I then got it from a store only to find the disc did not work and it froze on loading!! Then the PS4 came out so I took it back and I figured I'd wait till I got one sometime in the future before playing again, because by then the sequel would probably be coming out... what would you know...

    Due to reasons I am not going to spoil for you, TLOU needs to be experienced from start to end. There's a lot of emotional beats to it that you need to experience for yourself to be able to understand why this game resonates with so many. I believe the writing and the way it's so interwoven with the gameplay is the pinnacle of game design and game storytelling, it's an indication of the wonderful things our media can do moving forward.

    We can do things books and movies can never do due to the obvious passive nature of the media, and TLOU touches on some stuff only games can do. Little moments like you having to press Square to kill the Boss at the end of MGS3 makes you feel something you've never felt before and TLOU explores that exact same side of the medium and I love it for it.

    yeah but isn't that just like one extra chapter, kind of like what they did with The Last of Us after it came out?

    Ah, could well be… I only watched the videos, didn't follow news or the presentation, so I assumed was a new game to milk the brand

    It's not a new game, it's standalone DLC. Probably will have around 4 to 6 hours of gameplay at best.

    I liked how it looks, the animation, render, and overall quality of it all is very striking.

    I have no idea what I'm looking at tho, and it kinda bugs me. Who the hell are these women? Is that older ellie?

    If their goal was to make you ask more questions, then great sucess, they deffo do, but it's seriously lacking context, for you as a viewer, regardless on whether or not you played tlou1 there's not a single conecting tissue to anything else you've seen before on this franchise, other than the infected that apear for a glimpse of a second at the end there.

    If they had a bit more context people wouldn't be bitching about the exagerated violence either.

    I hope that's not older Ellie, doesn't really look like her. I think/hope they are trying to introduce new factions/characters... overall made me think of The Walking Dead in the last season when they introduced new communities

    Yup exactly this, had no idea the context behind it, personally didn't mind because I'm not all that interested in this. The animation was great stuff though

    Wikipedia says: "The trailer revealed four new characters: Yara (played by Victoria Grace), Lev (Ian Alexander), Emily (Emily Swallow), and an unnamed character played by Laura Bailey. Druckmann stated that the characters 'are integral to [Ellie and Joel's] next journey'"

    I was confused at first too and thought it was a hella buff Ellie.
