    Like fuck I was, I was just saying she was the lesser of the evils, I've made no secret of my dislike for Hilary over the years. I'll admit my opinion of Trump has softened over the months though, but I still think they're both as bad as each other for very different reasons. It's just sad that out of some 300 million people, they are the two candidates that people seem to want, if Bernie had got the democrat nomination, things could have been so much different...

    Anyway... my prediction: Hilary wins but it's a close run and whilst the media will paint it as the American people voted for the first female president, the reality will be that she only won because she isn't Donald Trump.

    Just the fact that trump doesn't believe in climate change alone, makes me despise the guy. Let alone the 1000 other hideous things he supports.

    Republicans will completely control all 3 branches of government. Things are about to get really regressive.

    I have these thoughts too and I genuinely think that's part of the problem. It makes us look like snobby liberal elites, turning our noses up at the "masses". Eventually they're bound to resent that attitude even if it's not what we intended, and then they're going to look elsewhere for solutions to their problems. That's when people like Donald Trump and Nigel Farage can swoop in posing as a "normal hard working bloke" and give them some easy scapegoats (immigrants, Muslim terrorists etc.) and make completely unrealistic but comforting promises like rejuvenating irrelevant industries to create proper jobs for hard working folk. It's easy for us to then label them as dumb because they fell for it, but that's ignoring the roots of the problem and perpetuating it at the same time.

    Brexit isn't even on the same SCALE as electing a fascist as a leader of the most powerful country on the face of the planet. Jesus, get some perspective over this Brexit bullshit.

    I'd say it's noteworthy because it's a result of similar politics, which revolve around blaming outsiders and seizing power back from so called out-of-touch institutions.

    I really hate this type of rhetoric. You're smart and above it all? Who are you to call millions of people "ignorant masses"? You don't realize why millions of people feel differently than you or have a different perspective on it? You're better than that man

    It's a bit freaky that he actualy did it. I think as an American i would be a bit worried right now. He's certainly gonna try to mess shit up what with Reps winning the House and Senate aswell. I hope he doesn't let the religious zealots in his party go crazy for starters.

    In terms of world politics i actualy think he was the better of the two choices. I have hopes that he will end the emerging new cold war between Russia and the West. This whole development had me really worried about what Hillary was going to do.
