Custom Sounds in a DoI map?

I've tried putting the sounds in the Music Folder(just to test) in the Main Sounds folder, etc, etc.

Can anyone suggest any fixes? the file is .MP3 but should work as it does in every Source engine game, even if the Engine itself doesn't 100% support it. ( I don't want to convert the file into a much larger file to make it work )

    Thanks :)

snd_buildcache exists in DOI, this is the description in the console: " <directory or VPK filename> Rebulds sound cache for a given search path."

I copied a custom sound and the sound.cache file from my DOD:S Cherbourg remake and the it worked no problems, so worst case scenario you can just build the soundcache in another source game and copy it over.

Thanks for the fast reply, however whenever I add a directory, it crashes my game, I've tried multiple, starting from the main E:/ and then from just the Steam:/ and the game itself dayofinfamy:/

Have you tried building the cache in DODS? I think the command in older Source games was Snd_rebuildaudiocache. It works from the root folder so moving the sound.cache should work without having to rename or edit anything.

Good to hear that you fixed it. Only wav and ogg files are supported in DOI. So just be aware that mp3 won't work.
