Skybex and I found this new map called "Concert" —so I'll link it down in the description if you guys want to check it out. We were playing on it today and I got like 69 kills or something like that, so it was only a few kills, but it was like the coolest feeling ever. We ended up subscribing to it on the workshop and stuff, and they hit us up and they're talking to us about potentially doing like a map sponsorship.

    Isn't that cool?

Okay, jokes aside, Skybex and I just released our map "Concert" on the workshop and wanted to share it with you guys.

The American dream is under attack! Anarchists have decided to crash a country rock festival and take the stars hostage. It's up to the FBI to rescue these local treasures to restore freedom in the United States of America!

    Hostage Rescue Scenario

Here is the workshop link if you'd like to give it a try and support the map:

    Thanks for your support!

    gg on release!

I think you guys might have rushed this out a bit fast tho. Might need a little more time in the oven. Many areas feel empty and unfinished, thematically each area speaks for itself (callout wise), but I think you're missing out on a lot of little elements that can help push the map.

Areas that I think need revisiting are:

    • sections where materials transition, there doesn't seem to be much breakup between many floors and walls/ceilings.
    • Lack of supports under the seating area really stood out to me, the roof while cool, looks awkward just chillin like that.
    • Lack of specularity on a lot of surfaces. Some areas that would clearly be polished wood are just entirely flat.
    • Lastly you might wanna turn down bloom a bit, I think it's blowing out your overall value range.

Ultimately if I were to sum it up: I think the map really lacks small scale detail to help breakup a lot of your shapes. There's just a lot of large scale stuff that contributes to the map feeling really blocky. A lot of stuff seems to be brush based which would benefit greatly if modeled out for extra detail like chamfering, etc.

Wow great release, I'm not a big cs_ maps fan but this map was realy fun to play! I like the idea, the size of the map and it's quite easy to get around + it looks very good, I'm impressed!

This joke is probably better than the map itself

Jokes aside. It played and looked great :) Good job once again!

And again a nice map living here ! Guys you're productive :) A small critic ; even is the layout is quite simple, sometimes I felt lost and it was hard for me to know where I was (but I'm pretty sure that after few rounds, it's quite simple to know the map). And last thing ; good job too for this new one ;)

I truly feel for you guys having to deal with some of the negativity and ignorance I've seen about this map with people calling it a clone or remake.

Love the feeling and design of the map, once the bugs get cleaned up I think it'll be fantastic. Really good to see another well-made cs_ map as well. Congrats on the release guys!

New build should arrive soon and should have all of the boost spots/out of map areas fixed.

Also tried to address some of the things you mentioned @MrTwoVideoCards especially in regards to the lack of the medium/smaller details.

@KODIAK I watched the whole video, looked like an interesting match you guys had. Would like to ask if you and your friends had any thoughts on the legit boosting areas? Specifically looking over the seating wall to the stage as CT and the small boost in the dressing room as T.

And thanks for the kind words everyone, still working hard on this to get it as solid as possible

@Skybex I think the boosts are okay, they are not op at all but still give some advantage. My only concern is that in a 1v1 situation, it is nearly impossible for the T-s to cover all entrances to the rescue zone. In most Hostage maps if you get to a 1v1 as a T, you still have a chance to win by defending the rescue area.

It is done on purpose. If you can easily hold the hostage zone, then defending the hostages is not really a priority for the Ts but instead locking down the rescue zone. With concert, if you allow the hostage to be picked up, you are now at a huge disadvantage and have to try and track the hostage instead of camping the zone. Makes the map more balanced overall and discourages rushing the zone like in most other hostage maps

    Fair enough :)
