    From all remaining teams I bet Germany has the stronggest base.

    I could care less about Football but i want Iceland to win the whole tournament, just to see those overrated, overpaid and over celebrated faces crying in despair.

    So far it's been a really disappointing tournament. Mainly due to this new system of 6 groups of which the 1st and 2nd place go to the next round, plus the four of the teams who placed 3rd in the group. You start with 24 countries and the group phase only eliminates 8 of them. Meaning it's a bigger achievement NOT to advance to the next round. It takes away all tension and pressure. That's why we ended up with a lot of countries that had no right being in the round of 16 in the first place. Which also meant boring games. Like how Belgium crushed Hungary or how Germany destroyed Slovakia.

    Countries like England, who were complete shit in every match, should have gone home immediately. I can't find a YT link but they made compilation of all the terrible passes Rooney made. It was atrocious to watch. Same goes for Portugal (which has nothing to do with my dislike for Ronaldo). Terrible matches overall, with the exception of one. The game against Croatia was probably one of the worst matches I've seen in a long time (both teams were terrible).

    Luckily we did have some good matches though. Plus, teams like Wales and Iceland have stolen my heart. So much passion, so much heart. I hope Poland beats Portugal, seeing as how Portugal should never have survived the group. Wales should beat Belgium, even though Belgium is good. I find them arrogant (sorry @Squad). Germany versus Italy is going to be great. I hope Italy wins (sorry @FrieChamp). Germany is already World Champion and Italy hasn't won a tournament in a long time. Iceland needs to beat France (sorry @TheOnlyDoubleF and @laminutederire). Because honestly, they've been very underwhelming so far and had a lot of luck on their side.

    This is a competition not a charity.

    Using your "argument", Italy won WC 2006 so that's only 10 years ago; Germany waited 24 years to win WC 2014 ;) (that counts as a long time)

    Well, I never said it was a valid argument ;)

    Of course the best should win, but seeing as how Germany is WC I just grant it Italy more. I have to admit I forgot about 2006 though :)

    Why am I not surprised that the Dutchman is rooting for Italy instead of Germany??? :P I'm afraid that I'll have to disagree with you on that, but I second the comments about the new tournament mode/number of teams.

    Don't be sorry, as I've posted earlier, I prefer Iceland to win, simply for the fact that they play with more passion than our players. I admit that France tried to be better by leaving players like Benzema out, but unfortunately, the younger are a bit too arrogant for my taste :)

    This is a strange tournament. I see and feel so little hype. Can't remember it ever being so calm during big tournaments. Not sure what the reason is, maybe the poor quality of the tournament, maybe because the hope for finaly winning a title again was eased after the world cup two years ago, maybe because the innocent feel good patriotism has been harmed by political events of the last 12 months or a mix of it all.

    I hope Germany wins against Italy but they are our bogey opponent. I think who wins this game has a 60% chance to win the tournament since the other teams are less cold blooded and experienced in big tournaments or in the case of France have big extra pressure.

    Trust me, it isn't very calm. There are a lot of public demonstration on unrelated stuffs, which makes the security tight, and forces people to be calm on site.

    In addition, the hooligan bits of the beginning might have set a cold mood around the event.
