    Xen-Underwater Concept for Black Mesa (Source - Community Competition). 20 Miuntes, Reference Free painted from Mind. I especially tried to catch the mood and style for that world.

    Going to paint more of this (though not all for Black Mesa Community Projects but for a yet to be announced Citchen-Project)

    Crevice of the Ichtyosaurus (the original sea-part was very flat and i imagined there could be huge (150 meter deep) crevices where the ichty is hiding). Drawn from mind, no References, Worktime: 20 minutes

    hmm I like but you could have spent more time defining the shapes better. The final composition looks pretty blurry.

    yes the highlighting of the cave's walls made it looks blurry - but it was meant to be finished in a short time and it was 3.00 in the morning so i decided on sticking with these and work it out better in the next concept.

    Ok - not too fond of this one but i liked the idea of the island-row

    Worktime was around 60 minutes (though - i paused alot and scrapped some earlier goes).

    The next one: My idea of a new Non-Player Animal - the Xen-Cow. Based upon the anatomy of a Scotch Highland Cow but with shortened legs and the bullsquidish face. A pacifistic behaviour but it can become angry and then push you down the edge of an "island".

    worktime was about 60 minutes as well. went to several stages of modifying and shaping a cow-concept before started coloring it. note the note: maybe reduce it to a single back-leg (houndeye-styled)

    the nose's perspective seems to be incorrect and lighting is not steady but otherwise looks like you have had a good go What tablet is it?

    Thanks e-Freak. This is my first try with a graphic tablet. I'm a Wacom Intuos 3 A5 owner !

    Nice stuff, the foreground mountains look very sharp which is a good thing. The middle part is totaly uninteresting though...and the bridge looks too sketchy.

    the problem i have is the straight edge of the foreground cliff to the background sketch - at the height of the bridge should be some kind of (übergang?)

    warby you stupid noob! grab your self a camera and see when the unsharpness appears! for gods sake!

    if you have short focal lengths -> no "DOF"

    the perspective you draw is wide angle so it is even shorter than short!

    so i have to agree to minos

    PS: don't be harsh to me. i just freak out sometimes
