Somehow I feel that you guys replaced the "preview" button with "insert other social media" and removed the "site discussion" section to keep us quiet about it. For some reason(?)

I don't remember there ever being a site feedback section.

As for the preview feature, that was something that was removed by the software vendor when the forum was completely overhauled a couple of years ago. I'd imagine that this was because the forum does more in-editor previewing now (e.g. images are shown in the editor, all formatting, etc) and also the forum no longer uses BBCode, so there's less need to 'translate' the post into a previewed version. Hopefully it's OK to do without it. 
I also ask again how do you insert webm and gifv into posts so they show and not just have a referral link? 
I'm not really very familiar with those but it looks like the browser support is very poor, which I expect is why the software doesn't do anything with them. Saying that, gifycat does appear to be supported by the forum so maybe those other formats are on the agenda.
my browser almost dies if there is more than two gifs on one page, both at home and work, proper html5 vids would be noice
OK so as a weird coincidence previewing was just added back in with the latest version. This is the first button in the editor.

There's a bug I noticed in the past but don't think I ever mentioned it: when you are in a discussion and someone replies, a notification pops up. If you reply to the conversation though, the new comment doesn't show up! It's very uncanny.
What can i say, been back after a couple of years. LANMANIAX! But to be honest, the new design sucks. I cant add a new topic......on my mobile i can see start a new thread. But then a cant choose a category. and i have tried 3 different browsers but still cant start a new thread... Signatures are wierd, old images keep coming back, after i saved the new ones. So no, i dunno what it is. But glad to be back. Now i have to figure out how to get my old name RA7 back

Yeah, this comes up regularly since nobody ever takes the time to read anything when signing up for something on the Internet. It's a antispam measure. You have to reply to an existing thread first, before you can start your own. Seeing your other thread, you have learned that by now.
Why would you need to select a catergory? Simply go to the forum in which you want to post and start a thread there. I don't know about the signatures. Can you make a screenshot of that problem? @Thrik, can you help him with his username?

Dude! It's good to see you. Lanmaniax was my FAVORITE site back in the day for looking at new maps.
Please feel free to keep the feedback coming. Hopefully me, @Spronyand @Thrik can improve these issues.

Brainfart but you could let people post an 'article' for themselves and then give each a custom subdomain url for a yearly cost? (example - Vaya.mapcore.org for £5 a year?)

We've discussed this before (internally) but I can't remember what the outcome was. I'll look it up. I'm open to the idea, but not fond of asking money. I would rather add a Patreon-system and reward subscribers with something like that.
