Can't find a thread about this topic, but what is your favorite map ever?
For me it is probably backlot or crash @CoD4, crash is the pillar of human map creation if you ask me.

Castle from CoD WAW, I never found as much satisfaction in a map as I did with this one! ![]()

cp_freight hands down for me. May seem unusual but I love it so much, only map I played on TF2 for a while.

Uncharted 2's train level for sure, completely blew me away technically, pacing, art and design
That's actually a really good question. First fthibg that popped in my mind was: "not dust2" and then... I don't know why but I always liked the feel of Halo 3:ODST city. It is what's for now what feels closer to it in my head !
<---- I have it's name right here under my avatar! xD

EDIT: I almost forgot: Urchin Underpass (Splatoon) set the tone for that game so well, in both gameplay and visuals.

Mesa from Crysis 1 Multiplayer is the best for me! Much love this map!
I played 10 months in Crysis 1 multiplayer... helicopters, VTOLs, 3 tanks, tactical nuke weapons, nuke tanks! It was awesome!

Fuck yeah I was well impressed with this level when I first played it!
I played a load of BF2 when it came out and I think Gulf of Oman was my favourite map from the game.

Quake 2's The Edge, or level 1 of Mysteries of the Sith.
I'm not sure what to say really. I can't think of one single map, as I can love different game modes, plus I'd want to put a singleplayer level for compensation...

When playing Backlot I always had a feeling that it was an improved version of this map. Am I the only one?
Unparalleled atmosphere and a fantastic, fun mission. Others will say The Haunted Cathedral or The Cradle but this for me always stood out as my favourite. It was my first taste of Thief and has always stayed with me as the defining map of the game.

I can't choose just one that's not fair. Engineering deck in System Shock 2 was so tense and just an amazing experience. Cramped maintenance corridors, exploding droids, dark echoing cargo bays full of fucking monkeys and of course those loud automatic doors. When you heard them open by themselves behind you and followed by a "Sir" - poop comes out.
