'Activision Blizzard will acquire social games giant King Digital Entertainment for a total equity value of US$5.9 billion, the companies jointly announced today..'

So yeah, this is pretty cray cray. I could never, ever have imagined this to happen. Now I get some dreams about how Blizzard could change the mobile market games, but that'll never happen probably. Gonna be exciting to see what they will do with the studios.

Well if anything, I'd rather phrase it as Activision buying King, but okay ;)

Pretty cray, in my book King has Zynga's destiny ridden all over it, but maybe that's being a bit too pessimistic :)

This is bewildering, but there has to be a reason why Activision bought King in the first place.

Maybe Activision wants revenue from King's Candy Crush Saga, or maybe they want King's intelligence and staff to create another mobile game.

They must be planning something big

Yeah, you're right. Or actually 'Activision Blizzard'. Sure but the company still sits on a lot of people and data on how to create mobile games that suits a lot of people. So even if Candy Crush Saga stops dragging in cash there's probably still a lot you can get out of it. Question if it's worth all that cray-cray money.

Bewildering to say at least. I really can't figure why if not breaking into the mobile market. Buying it only for revenue from King's games seems like a crazy move. Time will tell.
