What to do with this lady? 0

    1. keep her feeding tube away from her and let her die (0) 0%
    2. the feeding tube should be put back into her chest (0) 0%

In case u hadnt heard about it, here is the full story:

    http://edition.cnn.com/2005/LAW/03/24/s ... index.html

And for the lazy ones an objective summary:

A braindead woman has been living in hell for 15years. Her parents, two christian americans, want to keep her soul trapped inside the body hoping a miracle from the lord will turn back time. Her husband, an angel of mercy, wants to release it into the godless universe.

The parents have backup from Bush himself and millions of religious americans, but the husband has an even more powerful ally: the atheist god sanity.

What will happen to this woman??

    Hahahahha.

Anyway, if she's actually braindead, there's not gonna be a miracle. Impossible really. I personally think (sorry for sounding disrespectful) that it's a waste of money. I can feel with both parties though, I can imagine the parents just don't want to hear the truth and don't want to finally lose their daughter. The one thing that i think is really bad is how the government is interfering with the case, trying to change the verdict of the court by quickly passing laws and all just for this. Trias politica anyone?

I knew u would start about money Daan. After ur last rant about it being wrong to send money to the tsunami areas, i can see where ur coming from and im grateful u brought up this argument which will convince alot of americans. It is indeed a waste of taxpayers money

If I had been in her place, I would def had wanted the doctors/family to remove the goddamn tube. Or give me a hefty workover with a flamethrower.

You didn't get it really. I'm not against sending money to Asia, i was against the way things were done now, where things were all out of propertion, and where it was more of a status thing for some people to send money than that those people actually cared. I am not against sending money when done well at all in fact i think it's great.

I'd let her die, tbh. I mean, she's fucking braindead and she's been in a coma for 15 years, which is way too long already. I really don't know why her parents are still fighting. Sure it must be hard as hell, but I wouldn't want to see my kid in coma like that anymore.

I just saw a weeping woman who was protesting against the tube removal, she said something alonge the lines of "why are they doing this to her, I can't take this anymore yaddayadda cry". This was followed by an "emotional" speech of the parents lawyers who compared schiavo's appearance with that of an "Auschwitz detainee".

All this while thousands of people starve to death each day.

The fact that politicians like the Bush brothers exceed each other with political interference and hypocracy in this case, just for sympathy from potential voters, tops it off.

But the truely fucked up thing is the media coverage, which is the cause of all this hysteria. The media could make the president send in the marines when a sloth is about to fall down a tree in New-Guinea to save it, if there is enough reports about it.

I wouldnt really call the state she's in alive: In that position I think I'd rather just die rather than living a sad life like that, plus I think people would feel alot better if somebody was dead rather than being kept alive like that. I'd go as far as say that its inhumane to keep somebody alive this way

She can't live anything close to a fulfilling life. She is pretty much robotic.

    die.

She can't live period. Her brain has liquefied. There's a cat scan image of her head with a gaping hole in the middle of her head.

I just love how every court has sided with the husband to date. Parents appeal. Court rules against. Parents appeal. court rules against. Parents cry to congress, somehow get them to call an emergency session giving jurisdiction to a federal court. Federal court sides with the husband. Parents appeal to the supreme court. Court sides with the husband.

Gee, think we might have a legal precedent here?

People can lie to themselves all they want, but this woman is dead already and has been for years. And we have abortion rights activists plotting to smuggle food and water into her room. Riiiiiight...

IMO, there are MUCH larger issues that are at hand, this is just an example of a story that the media has used because its a slow news week. Its completely blown out of proportion. What the media is making this about is whether THIS woman should live or die, and not what the larger picture is, which is that other people's lives who are in similar situations are on the line here, not just hers.

SHE said that if SHE was in a persistent vegetative state, she'd want to die. What the hell is her parents' problem? Do they not get that her wish is to die? They keep saying things like, "everytime I go to sleep I dream about her, she can't die!" Excuse me, but did you ever think about what your daughter wanted? Selfish, selfish people.

    Frie wins.

Oh how I hate these hypocrats, like those ativists who are against transgenical food. This is a bit of off-topic I know, but transgenical food has been tested and tested for years and its prooved that its harmless and they still are against it. We could save millions of starving people with this food.

I saw at penn and teller the other day that greenpeace made some poor africa country to refuse tons of food donations, just because it was transgenical. And while there are people dying other are like "aw I won't eat this or that cuz its harmful for my health".

I just hate when people do that. A braindead person's death seems more horrible than thousands of african children dying everyday cuz their government refused food because of a bunch of idiots at greenpeace.
