I really like the way you've used curves in the geometry, its very interesting. cant wait to see it finished!

the layout seems pretty interesting! I haven't played it yet, but from the overview the B site seems like both teams would reach it around the same time (but if I'm correct then the main street thingy area can be locked down by CTs and the back alley area is slower but safer?). I will play this on the weekend

Yeah, lots of problems at this point, working on a new greybox currently. Thanks for checking it out!

Okay, I finally have a new layout. Timings are better, and rotations are maybe still a little bit funky. I would really appreciate any feedback because I made a lot of changes since the last version, hopefully for the better.

    Thanks.

    Edit: Updated on workshop

Updating the map. It's mostly detailed, and the layout changed a little too.

    Todo:

    -soundscapes

    -skybox

    -clipping

    -replacing brush crates

    -more ground detail

-improve player readability/ change environment and cc settings

    Hoping to finish in time...

Thanks everyone for feedback. The playtest was very helpful.

Sorry to be me again, but name... You've said you'll change it so just do it :P

You've got a nice looking theme, I'm going to assume of Scottish origin based on the flag and then you do it a massive disservice by calling it something unoriginal like "street". Is there not an area in Scotland this could be based in? A particular district of Edinburgh or something?

Oh yeah, hehe, I've been brainstorming. Here are a few:

    -de_royal (after the royal mile)

    -de_shops

    -de_neeps

    -de_haggis

-de_snowmelt (or just melt if that's not too vague)

    de_stormfront

    _frostbite

    _fever

    _icey

    _iceworld

I'm kidding, although the first 3 were serious :P

    Good stuff jakuza

I can understand the target on A-site, but... Are the terrorists just trying to blow up a car on B-site? :v

That box on B-site looks really weird as well.

More than likely, and after doing some serious brainstorming, I believe there are some nuclear crates underneath the road on which the car is parked. Since it doesn't make sense to just blow up the road above the crates, a car filled with C4 was parked by a previous set of Terrorists in order for the C4 to reach the nuclear crates.

Okay, the new name is royal. Here are screenshots of the new version with more little details. I also made the map a little more sunny and added sounds.

PS I also made B 100% more dangerous, the police cars flash and there are deadly explosives wired to the yellow car.

you need a lot less cobblestone walls to look like edinburgh (unless you're going for the 'edinburgh 200 years ago look' :P

I agree with Radu. The current state of the theme gives you a lot of scope to use lighting and perhaps coloured models to guide the player and add interest.

I love how it looks as is but I believe it could be even better with some additions and alterations.

Got it. Working on that now. The shopfront models I made are colorable, but I didn't want to go too crazy on them.

Thanks for the tip. I replaced the main one with bricks and it works much better.

Sorry about that. I honestly didn't remember Highlands until it was too late. I don't think people will confuse them anyways, since Highlands is so much better looking.

let me know if you want more reference photographs for later versions of this (obvs anything I take tomorrow will probably be too late for this contest closing). I think you're onto a good thing but it feels a lot less in Scotland than De_highlands.

I've no problem with that man ;)

It's cool to see new levels built in new locations (other places than the usual cs maps).

Spent a little while running around the map today and I thought I might as well make use of the time by giving a bit of feedback. You're probably already aware of some of the things I mention.

I was admittedly very tired whilst making this feedback so some of it may not be valid or make sense or...

I feel as though this route (in my crosshair) needs to be lighter and more obvious despite the stairs leading to it

    [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/PZAdIrD.jpg]

Idk if you aim to make a model to replace them but these brush based handrails really stick out and don't fit with the standard of detail in your map

    [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/g7j1PVl.jpg]

Just a minor thing, you can self boost to this off the blue box

    [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/XTmqNr2.jpg]

Kinda weird that this is phys. It looks like you should be able to use it to jump up the ledge and it sometimes gets in the way

    [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/CljLurF.jpg]

This is too shiny or something

    [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/vdhOXWn.jpg]

I feel as though it would be restrictive, perhaps uncomfortable to have to hold the bomb site in positions defensive to this tiny window

    [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/90UKwxQ.jpg]

I feel as though this wall may not add a whole lot in terms of game play whilst allowing for headpeaks if you crouch behind it[/b]

    [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/z3GYCrY.jpg]

The sprites "emitted" by these windows are too large in my opinion. They're just kind of distracting in the way they behave and draw attention

    [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/vwLhJJr.jpg]

This frame is not textured on the back meaning, looking from the other side of the window, you cannot see it
