For those who weren't around during the tail end of CS1.6 competitive, I created a competitive map for ESEA [download] with feedback provided by ESEA staff and pro's at the time. Volcano being the most productive and active. I ported it to CS:S/CSPromod but never really released it for CS:S. ESEA never really cared if I ported the map over; but there's been some demand and I've been tinkering with it for some time now.

Theme So, I've kinda settled on a thematic for de_lite. Might be similar to what a lot of other maps are but I'm going to try and push uniqueness in other ways.

    Reference Album

Backstory Environmental Terrorist want to put an end to a pipeline refinery that lies near an endangered forest ecosystem. New government contracts to build and expand this facility are met with angry and violent protests.

First of Resort is supposed to take place in France, so you would have some margin to do something else also you had a cool vibe in what you showed before

Anyway, what are your ideas to make it unique? T Spawn in the forest? Or a night setting, like in your last reference picture (which does look appealing btw)?

If I can create a night/dusk/dawn with great visibility i think ill pursue that. Refineries are typically well lit so this is a great positive.

I am also very excited you are still working on lite :)

I like the new setting, think it fits the map better than the cuban beach thingy

also interesting changes at bombsite B

Liking some of the layout changes so far. I assume you will re-scale some of the box cover to better fit CSGO models, since a bunch of them are the dreaded ~64 unit height. Otherwise looking good and excited for the possible night theme.

Yes, cover height will change for all existing 64 unit types

I liked the layout when I ran around it. Pretty cool, only complaint I had is that it never really feels like it opens up into a true spacious area, there's a lot of middle and small sized corridors, not much in the way of a nice open space. The middle being indoors might be amplifying that for me.

Good point, I'll see where I can keep things open. I know smoking is becoming very popular and important. But designing stages is also a way to slow things down. What is the rail yard bombsite currently is 100% smokeable and open from Tspawn to site. Other site which is turning into an interior will have stages where smoking is an option.

The biggest complaint I've seen and heard about de_lite was its B choke point being too harsh and flow for CTs back and forth having limited options.

Cool, I was just recently discovering an old version of it in my workshop files and wondered what happened to it. Glad to see it's still getting worked on.
