[WIP] de_airstrip

    This is a remake of the cs 1.6 de_airstrip re-designed for competitive play.

    It is in an very early stage but I would LOVE to hear any ideas or suggestions for the map.

    This is a view right outside of ct spawn of the main bridge in the middle of the map.

    Another look at the middle of the map. That weird orange looking thing is simply a makeshift mean of going uphill.


    This thread will be updated as the map is. I will also make the thread look nicer.

    That was just before we ported the map. Don't worry those 64 unit crates won't even get to live long enough to think about babies.

    I have played with another port of this map and the real issue there was timings, rotating was horribly long in my opinion. Don't know if this will cause you the same issue! I can tell that you made a partially different layout and it seems better !

    I know the one you are referring to. His is a direct port of the map which there are no real gameplay changes between that map and the 1.6 map. The 1.6 map had some real competitive/gameplay problems which is why it never made it further than CS:CZ. My version of the map is a remake which means we tweak the map around to make it have better gameplay value.

    Wow, this was always one of my favourite old maps and I was wondering why nobody ever bothered to remake its unique theme until now. Looks great already.


    Now, if only we had a good Havanna, Piranesi, Chateau, Prodigy and Truth ports....

    Yeah there isnt a whole lot of cover in the map. If I were you, I'd start adding natural cover/cool brushwork now just to make the map look nice and function better. It also sets a standard for the map.
