Bought the game and play like 6 hours. I thought I play like 20 min or less. Fuck.

Is there a great major among us to explain me what the heck with the fuel stuff?

I think you have to build power plants on or near oil/coal reserves, or maybe have some way of transporting the fuel. Not sure!

The white text in the black box seems to explain it tbh. If it doesn't work, might be a glitch.

After finally playing this game for a while I now completely understand the people who make one way streets/roads everywhere

Even though the traffica data layer may become green:er with that approach, I think that if used recklessly you create long travel times for citizens and goods, could be wrong tho.

The problem you could run into with one way roads is the fact your utilities buildings coverage will likely be worse and you need to have more of them, raising your weekly upkeep cost. But like with pretty much everything else it is a balancing act.

I am wondering though how the npc's pick their routes though if it really is based on only physical distance/travel Time on empty roads then it would be kinda uninteresting and not realistic as people would actually want to avoid congestion and use other roads instead. So it would be interesting to maybe try to use travel time adjusted with road availability factor instead. That might cause some ping pong effect though.

This is awesome. Someone used a huge dam and water pumps for terraforming.

It definitely should not be used recklessly, but it can provide better flow by restricting passage to larger roads. The whole thing with one way streets should be used in conjunction with the "golden" traffic rule that left turns should be avoided whenever possible. Left turns inhibit flow massively and are the #1 cause of traffic stagnation - they are the sole reason we need traffic lights at all. If we only used right turns we could make highway-esque roads with right way ramps that could reach any part of the city. But this would require a lot of circular movement etc, and would cause problems in a grid structure, which is the most effective way of building a city.

But even with this, the rule stills stands: If you can make people only go straight or right traffic as a whole moves faster.

So I caved in and bought this game last week o/

Tried that first person mod and ended up looking at a corner for like 5 minutes! It's so entertaining to see random shit happening, for example, I saw a small scooter parking and then a whole family (father, mother, 2 daughters and a dog) coming out of it and entering a building

Anyways, I'm loving it so far even though it's definitely not as polished as Sim City, but still a very impressive game overall. I really miss some better feedback about what's going on in my city, stuff like advisors would go a long way to improve this. Would also be nicer if you could see a bigger visual difference between poor and wealthy areas, as of now everything kind of looks the same from a distance.

I can't wait to see how different this game will be a few months from now with all these awesome mods coming out all of the time, really makes me feel like making some buildings too

I looked into making custom buildings. It's pretty straight forward. Don't have much time/motivation for it right now tho. Confident we will see some awesome stuff in the future. Really impressed with the mods so far. The game is out for only two weeks and thers already mods that add whole new tools that make the game better.

God I am so on the verge of buying this and relegating yet more games to my backlog. I just hope I don't get bored almost immediately like with SimCity 2013.
