    Hello everyone,

I am a professional designer just about ready to release a free custom mod I've been working on for over 2 years! This mod has custom maps, models, destructibles, code, shaders, and more that I need beta testers for. I'm looking for 8 volunteers, ideally senior members of this community, to help screen for final bugs & feedback.

What is Transmissions : Element 120?

A short single player experience set in the Half-Life Universe featuring a unique gravity defying weapon that allows you to jump buildings and sustain large falls. The story takes place at a mysterious date & location after the events of Half-Life : Episode 2. Where are you? Why have you been sent? To help bring the Source Engine up to date several new features are included:

    • Enhanced dynamic lighting
    • Integrated Source Shader Editor 0.5 for enhanced post processing & lighting
    • Improved support for complex physics structure
    • Support for super massive physics objects
    • Improved AI and group behavior on multiple AI types

Below are the first public screenshots of the game and mapcore is first to have them:

    Minimum Requirements

Processor: Pentium 4 - 3.0 GHz, or AMD equivalent

    RAM: 1GB (1024 MB)

Graphics Card: Shader Model 2.0 capable, ATI 9600, NVidia 6600 or better

    725MB of free HD space

My machine is 2 years old and the game runs great.

Source SDK Base 2007 must be installed for the mod.

    What will volunteers do?

    1. Play through the game which takes anywhere from 0.5-1 hours to complete.
    2. Report any game blocking bugs or severe visual glitches.
    3. Fill out a short questionnaire when you're done.

    Install & Instructions

To play download either e120.zip or Setup_TE120.exe from the link below:

    http://1drv.ms/1OyARWi

Install instructions located on this page along with the question sheet.

Looks very nice so far, well done! Hope it goes well for you, best of luck

I'd volunteer but I'm new in this community. You'll have no problem finding volunteers

Having modded a lot I could probably do a lot of technical feedback.

I'm no professional gamer, but I can volunteer. I have a pretty good PC so I should be able to run it great.

I'm up for it, just recently I have been trying some HL2 add-ons I couldn't try in the past years.

Dunno if it's worth mentioning, I've done the main bulk of qa for Riot Act and I usually explore every corner of spank maps.

Di you need just the stand, classic demo recorded from console, or you mean an already encoded video? (fraps and the likes)

I'd be glad to be able to beta-test your mod, i'd really like to know what this core gameplay element is, ingame.

I'm used to playtest singleplayer hl2 mod, thanks to "Wilson Chronicles" (a singleplayer hl2 mod, in the environment of hl1), no problem for recording the whole experience.

But i'm not a senior of Mapcore and I've never made a SinglePlayer map, yet. But HL2:EP2 is my ultimate favorite game ! ^^

Thanks for signing up everyone! I've got 8 volunteers who I've sent PM's too.

If anyone is still interested it would be nice to have a couple more in case things fall through for anyone. As I said before, I prefer senior members of this community but I'll take what I can get.

If you want more testers you may want to consider the beta testers collective (http://www.betatesterscollective.com/) the majority of our tests are for HL2 mods.

    Thanks again!

    Hello Again!

TE120 is ready for the second round of testing. The last round was great and I got some really valuable feedback. Unfortunately for about half the testers there were missing models & materials due to a strange bug.

For this round of testing I'm going to open beta access to all of mapcore.

All I ask is if you download and play please let me know if you run into any missing assets, if you get stuck, or if you run into any other major issues by e-mailing me at [email protected]?subject=Mapcore%20Feedback%2FBugs, ideally along with a few screenshots.

To play download either e120.zip or Setup_TE120.exe from the link below:

    http://1drv.ms/1EhKlNm

Located on that page is a question sheet. The question sheet is not required but if you do fill it out please do not read it until after finishing the game since it contains spoilers.

Feedback and opinions welcome, but please only post here or e-mail me directly since the feedback may change the final build I release to the public.

    Hardware Requirements

Processor: Pentium 4 - 3.0 GHz, or AMD equivalent

    RAM: 1GB (1024 MB)

Graphics Card: Shader Model 2.0 capable, ATI 9600, NVidia 6600 or better

    780MB of free HD space

My machine is over 2 years old (as of 3/3/2015) and the game runs great.

    Software Requirements

TE120 requires the Source SDK Base 2007 installed to run.

To install the Source SDK Base 2007:

    1. Go to your steam library
    2. Select "tools" from the menu right next to the search bar which defaults to “games”.
    3. Scroll down to Source SDK Base 2007, right click and install.

    Mod Installation

    1. Close steam.
    2. Download and run Setup_TE120.exe or download the e120.zip file.
      • If you downloaded the zip file, unzip it in: ...Steamsteamappssourcemods
    3. Open Steam, TE120 should now be listed in your Library under “games”.

For previous testers who want to play again just delete the e120 directory in ...Steamsteamappssourcemods before installing again.
