Oh gosh @Sprony, we --or at least I-- was getting confused with the films... Covenant is Prometheus 2. I got tricked by the fact that Blomkamp was posting pictures the days before the trailer

So, this is basically Prometheus 2, also being direced by Ridley Scott.

Is bloomcamp still directing Alien 5?

Yes Alien 5 is going ahead, Blomkamp tweets/Instagram regularly pictures.

The one I put a few post up is from him, had a definite Aliens vibe.

I don't have much hope for this. It looks like made for TV, some of the artistic choices are so weird to me. Why make a movie on a grey overcloud day and then further desaturate it in post process? it looks like ass. I can't believe this is directed by Ridley Scott, who used to have such a good hand at making visualy stunning artistic choices. Aside from Fassbender the cast does nothing for me, and the story seems to be as nonsensical as Prometheus.

I just can't believe that Scott is doing this stuff. And why him, does he own rights to Alien of sorts?

I just feel good in knowing the true Alien sequel is by Blomkamp and Blade Runner with Villneuve at this point.

Blomkamp his version is all but certain. We first have to sit through this crap, than another one by Scott and when the franchise is raped enough, we'll have to see if Fox still wants to put money into Blomkamp his version. I know I'm not going to the theaters for this. Boycott the shit out of it.

@Sprony what's this about a third chapter? I didn't know there was such a planned timeline, even more I was missing that Ridley had a trilogy planned.

I thought Blomkamp film was confirmed and that they were treating the things as separate franchises
