I hope they make the funding, I guess not al thought they have 11.000 more then yesterday so if they keep going like that...

I do have my doubts about the feasibility of the project but we will see (or not). Games are often the most promising when not released.

Also grossly underestimated budget. $150000 CAD for all of this? What the fuck.

You could just as well flush your money down the toilet (which sounds more fun too).

So people seriously just throw blindly money at some voice in a video telling they need money for something ridiculously ambitious game like that?

That might as well be just one dude with too much time in his hands showing his ue4 scenes... There isn't even one mention about what team is behind all this.

Even if they managed to make this, would it be a fun game? With no focus or real emphasis. Who wants to play the store clerk that keeps getting robbed by everyone?

You would be surprised by the amount of player that bought Arma 3 for that sort of "Life" mods, there are literraly shit tons of server full of this. And if this game can make people play the real Arma and not those shit mods, i'm okay with this !

I guess, people find somehow fun in this genre, either in roleplay or in realism, there is a lot of things to do (mostly stupid mission, but anybody can turn into a criminal at any moment) : as it is in Arma, it's not my cup of tea, but if they managed to make a real game with balanced gameplay and solid foundation 'ill be glad to test it

    "His UE4 scenes" : http://www.reddit.com/r/arma/comment…oducing/cnfud7x

Right now, for marketing purpose, it's all assets downloaded from internet. There is no real gameplay shown. And as you mentionned it, the team looks blurry : I asked the creator on Twitter, he answers me he was lead developper and that other members were mostly external ressources... This dude, afaik, collected some existing mods from Arma 3 and compile it to create "his own" Altis Life module, and is now managing his server.

Yeah, it makes me sad/mad that projects like that keep on stealing the spotlight from a bunch other projects struggling to be funded. Projects that deserve a lot more attention than this (which doesn't have the slightest chance to reach completion anyway)

Soon you're gonna tell me that a kickstarter kitten card game can reach 5M$. Oh wait...

There are a lot of kickstarters that are legit. Don't let the few (or many) bad weeds fool you.

That being said, I've only gotten a ROI from 5 out of the 9 kickstarts I've backed... but then, the rest are under development...

I know, but whilst there is protection if a project doesn't reach funding, I understand that if a project fails your money goes in the shitter. So if I have to give money I'd prefer going thorugh an early access funding like it happens on Steam.
