I just want to point out that in less than 29h they have over 423 000 views, and look at the thumbs up/down ratio . . .

The point of it is that they already won ! The HOLE INTERNET is saying HATRED. We can say this game is bullshit, press can say that but the game will sell - It's not hard to sell a digital game even by your own.

What I know that they made a storm that shows us where is the line, the numbers of selled copies will tell us if we can actually cross that line - and again please don't tell me that we can/can't.

    What did they "win"?

Regardless if it sells or not (which actually doesn't matter), I personally wouldn't be proud to "make it" based on the values depicted in the trailer. I'd rather sell 5k copies of a game that reflects my ethics than 100k+ based on sensationalism and...well...hatred.

Also the number of sold copies will not tell us anything except that you can really sell anything...

(and that comes from a guy who spent 2,5y working on a nazi killing simulation...)

And you are totally right, but selling this game will show us that yes you can sell smth that most of us will say that no one or very few will actually buy and play. What did they win ? Fame at this point it doesn't matter what kind of

And pogop man, srsly no one is telling you to do this, nor to play this game

People will buy it and play it just to see what the huge fuss is about, not because it will be a good game or anything. I guess you could class this as an exploitation game.

Another team member, ‘CEO and Animator’ Jarosław Zieliński, has prominently displayed an endorsement on his public Facebook page of the Polska Liga Obrony: an established nationalist Islamophobic, anti-immigration hate group.

This reminds me the game "Terrorist Attack" (not sure about the game, i've read this article long time ago), made by white suprematists where you have to kill dozen of black gang members, coming to their house and kill them, in the way this game show it.

Also, i'm not sure how relevant it is to stalk someone's profile on facebook and decide that what you see if what this person his. We all know a person who re-posted once a shitty article about migrants taking our jobs and others nationnalists stuff. But you can't judge someone only with this hint. I don't say this guy is an angel or a devil, i'm not here for judging him. Just to prevent some witch-hunt.

Yeah the headline "neo-nazi" and the reality, anti immigration don't match up. Sensationalist nonsense.

"In this photo of the development team, we can see that one of the developers wears a shirt depicting a historical anti-communist military group (Żołnierze wyklęci, historically associated with the Freikorps) that is lionised by right wing extremists."

Marcem, you need to learn what nazi and right wing mean. They are not the same thing.

Ah you're right, my American values saw German things and thought Nazi (really though, was thinking the author actually did the reading they linked to, but I stand corrected).

Alright, didn't want to turn this into a political debate, just thought that watching them dig themselves into a deeper hole was funny.

I'm an horrible person, I chuckled a couple of times.

I'd happily try it, but it's the kind of game you want to get only on PSN or Games with Gold. The kind of game I can play in 30 min bursts when I really don't know what else to play or can't devote more time to a more serious game.

The kind of game you forget very soon to have in the recesses of your hard drive.

And I agree with lots of the critiques, there's a responsibility when making games, it's not proven that games (or movies) make you a psycho… but there are people convinced about that*, why give them something to talk? Also it's bad to stereotype the goth-metal loner in the role, as it's already like that in the mind of bigots (remember that it's Marylin Manson's fault the Columbine shooting?). I dunno, make him look like a white collar from Wall Street… so in the end I just think this sort of product makes things more difficult for your colleagues.

Ps: I'm an hypocrite because then I get immensely pissed off if a game forces you to kill animals, if I had to make the choice, in Splinter Cell I'd stun the dog and kill the guard.

*sometimes I do question myself to think if games alienate some kids

it's a game, nothing more... I don't understand why this is different from GTA, where you can kill as many innocent people as you want without doing any mission..

Difference is that GTA is so much else. The rampages (which I take occasion to remember to everyone that were rewarded in earlier chapters) act as the release that gamers need after being on edge after a few missions. it's not the focus of the game

This game is awesome! This remind me Rampage: the only one movie from Uwe Boll the maker of Contra.

You even have to torture a guy in one of the missions of GTA V. Same in sleeping dogs btw.

I have the feeling this is more a hatred against the studio than the violence of the game. Yeah it doesn't look that good, but give them a break it's an indie studio. Also some are saying the developers are neo-nazis or coming from the dark side of the moon or whatever. Really since when do we care where developers are coming from? This starts to sound more and more like politics, dig up the dirt and try to stop them in anyway possible.. I will buy a copy now for sure, just to support the developers.

Not saying the developers should be stopped, the critique is that they should know better.

I've only watched the trailer for this game, but my opinion is that the game looks entirely abhorrent and not a game that I would be willing to play. However, I have no desire to condemn others for playing it, and I would actively oppose any movement to ban such games.

I'm pretty sure that games still don't turn people into killers, and I feel that any censorship of entertainment is wrong. If an individual gets some kind of thrill out of playing a game like this — much like a sizeable number of people enjoy books with extremely controversial subject matter, paper-thin plot slash horrors, violent porn, etc — I don't have the right to judge them for it. Anybody who does so is quite simply arrogant, although expressing personal disapproval is fine.

I think we're going to see a lot more games like this, and that games are increasingly going to have this side catering to various taboos that is somewhat akin to comparing film and pornography. Describing all of these things as 'games' is something that will probably have to stop in the end, though.

It does seem like at least some of the developers are real assholes in terms of their beliefs. But who made the game is kind of irrelevant for me. It is what it is.

Okay, I read False Equivalence: The Thread. I wish I hadn't, but I might as well respond to make it feel like I achieved something.

Grand Theft Auto is set in a cynical, attempting-to-be-satirical world where you drive around listening to comedy radio stations, are not required to kill anyone innocent to progress, and killing a pedestrian consists of them snapping into ragdoll and clipping through a post-box while spitting out a spinning +100 Video Game Money collectable. There is no strong parallel with a closed-world game where your only purpose is to kill as many innocent people as gratuitously as possible with canned, violent execution moves through a camera purposely made to resemble police helicopter footage on a public shooting news report. Conflating the two is disingenuous.

I don’t think it should be censored or banned, of course, but someone should call the developers mums.

So I leave the Core for a couple of days and this happens. I couldn't see the video on mobile but I did see all the reactions so I was really curious to see what all the fuzz was about. Have to say, I'm pretty disappointed. I expected something truly grotesque and utterly disturbing but all we see is the original Postal in 3D. I can't believe this caused so much fuzz. I'm also surprised how some of you reacted calling knj's friends shit and that they should be fucked. I noticed some replies about mature discussion, well I can't say that this applies to the entire thread and it's a bit unfair to knj as well. Really uncool.

About the game, I don't know, it surely isn't for everyone and yes, it's a perfect excuse for Politicians to blame games again. It's also probably not something I'm going to buy. However, sometimes when I'm really frustrated about stuff I love to load up Doom, put god mode on, grab the chainsaw and unleash Hell. Killing every pedestrian in Carmageddon or blowing everything away in F.E.A.R. Sure, the context is entirely different and I'm not comparing these games. It's just to illustrate that I understand the need to rampage from time to time. Even the original Postal put a smile on my face with it's rampage and lovely quotes 'Only my weapon understands me". Maybe I'm just sick minded.

I also don't get how the teams private lives are really relevant to the discussion. That's supposed to remain private. I'm not judging anyone regardless of how I feel about things. I enjoy things for what they are and I'm not going to be put off because I disagree with the views of it's creator. Same with actors and their private lives. I don't care if they fathered a love child outside of their marriage and so on. Still can't believe this thread. Based on the reactions I really thought he posted something like Holocaust Tycoon or Sim Kampf.

Sprony, I'm sure you know the expression "don't feed the troll". Well, you make a controversial game, feeding all the right ingredients to those advocating bans and restrictions to games… you can't expect that your life is not gonna be examined. It's wrong, but these advocates are gonna use the argument to demonstrate that the game is trying to corrupt the minds of youngsters.
