Have you seen Solaris? Just watched the youtube clip. Reminded me a lot of Solaris. (music wise as well)

Did you use any displacement maps? I have really hard time getting them to work (display at all). Meshes get tesselated but no displacement is actually happening.

I haven't seen Solaris actually, I've always wanted to watch it though, just never got round to it!

Buddy, nah I didn't use any displacement, there's no tesselation going on in this scene at all.

    Hey guys!

Not posted on here in a while, been busy with work. I've decided to release this for free for you guys to download and mess around with/learn a bit more of Unreal 4. Let me know if this doesn't work for some reason. I tested it with Unreal 4.5 and it seemed ok. Not tried in later versions, if they're even out yet.

Really awesome. Thx for sharing! Working on a scifi scene myself. This is gonna be invaluable learning material for when i'm putting on the final touches to my scene.

Hey Pogo, may i ask where you got your default clut texture from? i found one on the unreal wiki but it doesn't seem to work as intended. think it was meant for UDK.

Woah sorry dude I didn't see your question. My default CLUT was found on the Unreal wiki, it seemed to work fine for me!

Got a bit of news on this scene. Epic contacted me a while ago asking if I'd like to put this on the Marketplace and I said I didn't want to charge for it.. So they asked if I'd like this scene to be included on the 'learn' tab of the UE4 launcher! I wrote a piece of documentation about material instancing to go with my scene and it's being put up on the learn tab too. It's now in the official UE4 documentation! Really humbled that Epic think this scene is worthy of going up on the UE4 launcher alongside those other scenes which are incredibly high quality.

You can read it here. The scene isn't yet up on the learn tab though, I'll let you know when it is!
