I could never get into Witcher 2. Admittedly I only played it for an hour. Any tips from anyone who has played it a lot? I found the game kind of confusing since there seemed to be a lot to learn!

Yeah, persevere. It's rough around the edges and it takes some getting used too. Especially combat. But once you understand it plays great. Give it a couple of hours and use the wiki for whatever you want to know. It helps a lot but just stay away from spoilers of course.

Me too, I thought the combat was really clunky and not enjoyable.

Dig in. This is a big boys PC game for big PC boys, not console CoD insta thrill tards

Nah seriously it's a very deep RPG with a lot to learn, and once you learn it all incredibly rewarding. The combat was completely reworked in the Enhanced Edition as I didn't like it either in the original release.

Same here dude, same here. That's why I stopped with the first one. But then I came back to it, really took my time to learn it and read about it and once I understood it then it became second nature and it was actually quite good.

Looks like I already own everything that's been on sale so far pretty much. Might be a cheap sale for me this one.

Just goes to show how diluted the Steam library is these days... Just crappy releases apparently cos so far I seem to own everything I want already from the other sales

My "unplayed" list is longer than my "played" one xD

Take away the free games I've amassed over the years (all Valve, all Take Two, All Rockstar, some Ubisoft) and I've played or tried 90% of the ones I bought....

Got Blood Dragon, but didn't really like it, it's a mess visually and is just trying to hard to tick of all the retro checkboxes. Also got Call of Juarez Gunslinger, pretty linear and no gameplay variety, but it is fun for what it is. Has a really solid presentation and pretty environments. Hoping for a new western game from Techland soon

Good game, especially with all the content updates it gets. I haven't counted but it feels like they've over doubled the number of missions in the game, with some reusing levels, and others adding large complex new ones.

Here's a simple gameplay video which I just recorded of Door Kickers and it's the replay of a mission. Basically, you plan how your troopers move, which angles they should cover and when etc. A really nifty feature is that troopers can be ordered to wait at certain points until they hear one of three go codes which you can issue (alpha, bravo, charlie - you hear these in the video). This allows for some neat coordination. Very rewarding game and I highly recommend it if you liked Frozen Synapse or if you're a fan of tactical games like Rainbow Six. I've only played 4 hours but there's definitely potential here.
