I am there, if anyone wants to meet...
Also I am working with Epic to organise an Unreal meet and greet during Nordic Games. If anyone is interested feel free to join!
https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php…et-up-on-May-22
Epic Games will host a casual get together on May 22nd at the Green Lion, Malmö, Sweden (close to the central station, and the Nordic Game conference venue) from 4.00 PM CET - 7.00 PM CET.
We are inviting any interested developers to hang out with us and our Scandinavian friends, enjoy some food and drink, and check out Unreal Engine 4.
Attending from Epic will be Mark Rein, vice president; Mike Gamble, European territory manager; Andy Hess, Evangelist; Alan Willard, senior technical artist; and Alan Noon, developer relations technical artist.
In addition, the evening has been organized by our good friend and Unreal Engine guru Sjoerd De Jong, so there will be plenty of opportunities to discuss your projects and challenges with the team.
Thinking about joining us? Let us know below. We hope to see you there!

Don't think I am going to Nordic Game, but since I live just across the bridge I might stop by just for this. Anyone else coming?

Just to let you know Sjoerd, you better book some tables there because Green Lion in becomes packed quickly, I know that place.

The place officially has space for 220 people, and we can make use of the dining area also. Plus the weather is said to be good so we got some extra space outside.
And rather too packed than it looking empty. Should hopefully work out. Every other venue was too far away to walk.

Yesterday night I got to know I'm going to see some investors tomorrow on something called Investing Games Summit, anyone got Dos and Don'ts?

Are you pitching?
It hasn't been announced what the Investing Games Summit will be about. All I know right now is that there will be a lecture in "Investing In Games" and an hour of mingling with investors. Therefore, I'm guessing it is very likely that I will pitch the game me and my team is working on.
-
Don't mention the war...
That aside most people pitching to investors tend to focus way too much on the game itself and what kind of cool ideas you have about weapons and stories and so on, while what you should be covering is how you intend to make them money. Why the company would run well with the group of people you are. How you intend to approach the market and public. Long term views. How your approach, views, and strategies make you a person they feel confident with handing you their money.
The actual game itself is lesser important IMO. It would be for me.

All that makes sense, thanks a lot!

What Hourences said is spot on.
Its all dependant on what type of game it is (it should be mobile) and what kind of monetization plan you have (it should be free to play with IAP)
And when I say what "type" of game it is, I dont mean what genre or how the camera is controlled. I mean what platform are you going to launch on, is it casual or hard core? easy to understand and easy to play? And when I say what kind of monetization plan you have it is not enough to simply say "f2p with iap". They will ask for key values that you have estimated based on what similar games usually deliver. What kind of social features is in your game? Incentiviced social sharing to lower user acquisition costs etc..
But firstly. Is the game already made? Because if you dont already have a completed game then they probably wont bother listening to you. Or they'll listen and sund super excited and you'll never hear from them again because i'ts too much of a risk backing "ideas"

Its a sad sad world

Thanks a lot for taking time and replying, this is gold to me!

Can I expect the investors to just throw a quadrillion of questions at me or do they expect me to just give them an awesome presentation with all the right points? Or does that differ between each meeting?
I guess I'll have to see tomorrows experience as a learning one and see where it takes me.
