This, plus I usually opted for gigs who could help my long term goals. Turned out it was the best thing I could have done, career wise.

When I started in marketing/BI I chose the agency with the biggest, most renowned clients. Not because they paid more, but because the options down the road would be seemingly endless. At this point I've worked with brands everyone here will recognize. Not directly related to the gaming industry, but seems to be the way of the world in general :)

I'd definitely go with the bigger studio on a well known franchise at this point. Build up your portfolio with a well known studio and you'll have a lot more opportunities later on. And you never know, you could progress within the large studio. Just because others find it a big stagnant doesn't necessarily mean it'll be the same for you if you make a good impression.

    Congrats on the opportunities though!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I had a lot of thinking yesterday and I'm moving on the big studio level design position! I'll confirm everything today with the studio and hope to tell you more about it in the next few days :)

Are people becoming more annoying when you get older or am I becoming more angry as time passes by? It's like I said before: I used to sympathize with the victims in a horror movie, now I identify with the killer.

I don't think I am getting more annoyed or angry, just disappointed. The worlds a bit crazy at the moment with what seemingly seems the wrong/bad people winning elections, people killing each other more and governments just not caring about the environment.

It's exactly 20 years ago today that I broke my father's resolve and finally got him to buy me a pc. I've been a member of the master race for 2 decades now. I convinced my parents that a pc was essential for homework and internet was needed to succesfully finish school. The truth is I wanted a pc for games, primarily for Doom because the PlayStation port didn't have a save system. Of course the first thing 13 year old me did on the internet was using Altavista to search for porn. I never made any homework on it. I remember the date so well because feeling unvincible after finally getting my way I had the audacity to ask my father for a game. That game was Dungeon Keeper. By far one of the best games I ever played and one of the few classics that stood the test of time and still hasn't been surpassed to this day. So happy anniversary!

@Bastion Now you have something for those times when you run out of toilet paper. It's time to set your own goals and do something worthwhile.

As everything has been validated => I'll start working at Ubisoft Annecy next week as a level designer.

I'm struggling to find a place to live in this city so I might not be around here much in the next two or three weeks. But be sure I'll represent Mapcore well in this studio! First day with the Mapcore t-shirt for sure :D

Really feels like I'm lifting a mountain with Sub-Zero, now that it's (kind of) wrapping up, the scale of it is very daunting. It's been quite a ride...

So, I've been dealing with pretty bad anxiety and REALLY BAD self-hatred for like a 1 year now, which I've grown pretty tired about tbh. All this self-hatred started out as an inside joke between me and my close friends really, which eventually over a few months made me realise how many things there's actually wrong with me, in comparison to other people with like the perfect lives, looks and shit etc etc.

Let me give you guys some examples on what I think is wrong with me:

    - Rock bottom self-esteem

    - Anxiety

    - No social life, besides school (most of my friends prefers to just chill over discord and play games, so It's pretty hard to plan something)

    - Looks (not really face, more like from the neck down. Been trying to go to the gym, but I simply do not have enough motivation at the moment)

    - Negativity

There's more I'm sure, but can't think about it right now.

Basically all the things above have fucked my sleeping, and fucked my school work.

So, if there's any experts on this sort of thing, then I could really need some advice, before I actually need to go to therapy and turn my life around for real.

Sometimes it's necessary to take some time alone to reevaluate life so we can slowly build the future that we want to live in. Read a lot (we are all hardwired the same way), take one step at a time and don't be too harsh on yourself when you inevitably fail :)
