Klein is part of the Mapcore Legends right? I thought those were just stories to tell newer members. Anyway, Klein, Herzlich wilkommen!
What's going on with your life?

maaaaaaaaan...i just had kidney stones myself...in fact, i think i still do as i keep pissing blood every few days or so and pissing out little bits and pieces. one of the worst pains i've had so far (mono was worse though)
i haven't been posting much on mapcore lately...... mostly just lurking around. as most of you know i've been on sort of a games industry time-out since finishing Deus Ex: Human Revolution and the DLCs etc. I moved back to Germany early last year (something i thought I'd never do) and have been working for an airline just to pay the bills and do something else for a bit.
My sister had a baby and I didn't want to miss seeing him grow up in his first few years. It's been a pretty scary step to sort of "quit" and drop everything but I think I needed it and experience something else in my life. I feel like I taking a step back from the whole circus of the games industry gave me the chance to focus on some other elements of my life that i severely neglected in the past, in other words "having a social life". I found an amazing girlfriend here and we've been living together for the past year or so and I seriously haven't been this happy in a long long time. But also, I just downloaded Unreal Engine 4 and am starting to put together a new portfolio soon to make a re-entry into the biz in the next year or so hopefully. I feel motivated again and my batteries are re-charged. I might post a few WIPs here soon when I really start getting into it. I've missed hanging out on Mapcore.

I hope you're not too disillusioned with the industry. After all, DX:HR has to be one of the better games in recent memory.
Looking forward to seeing you around more often.

Get back to work in the Dogs thread, I need backup (no reposts).

Yesterday I flew back to Italy.
Tonight we are saying goodbye to our dog. I've seen him opening his eyes, I couldn't miss the moment when he closes them.

The feels ...
Even if my cat is a total asshole who ignore me most of the time and bite me the rest of it, i don't want to imagine the end of his days...
-
Sorry, Blackdog

Yeah man. My condolences for your loss and respect for flying back all the way back there for this. Now that's love!

Sorry to hear that dude!

Sorry to hear that man. I did that with my cat when I was about 17 and it still sticks with me. I'm glad I was there though, the vet wouldn't let me in until I threw a fit about it.

Broken anus: The revenge
You have no idea, forgot to drop in here and update. I literally couldn't move more than 30 seconds away from a toilet for five days. One could say those were shitty days.

That's just really sad. Never had a dog for that long, had a cocker puppy a year ago but it turned all crazy and had to be put to sleep - that hurt but I can't imagine what it feels like to loose a fellow canine you knew for such a long time. I hope he had a peaceful goodbye.

Thank you guys, you are stars

At least now he's chasing butterflies.
And for certain aspects he had a better life than me, if you could look at some holiday pics he had with my parents...

I'm pissed off today.
Even when you have something to be happy about your life and stuff to look forward, something or someone comes and manages to make it much less enjoyable.
I went on a few dates with a girl recently and she seems already pretty into the thing. Couldn't meet her for the last couple of weeks because of working schedules (we live a good hour of drive of distance). I've got several days off so we are gonna spend a good chunk of this long weekend together.
Yay, I shouldn't be happier and nothing could possibly mess with my zen, right?
No, what did she think was best doing yesterday evening... just after we organised our schedules?? Skype* her friend! who was a colleague of mine until he left just a couple of weeks ago and who's now headed to the USA for a 1-year contract (maybe extendable), who also was/is "disastrously in love with her for three years" - his own words. Yes, because this morning I got woken up by the pinging sound of facebook messages of his, telling me he got "a bit upset" and he wishes I told him (whether I was going to ask her out or going out with her is unclear) because of the aforementioned

What is wrong with people?? My pal's reaction is in tune with the character and perfectly foreseeable, how come Nicola could ever think to go tell him... after we went out on ONLY THREE fucking dates! Without consulting me. When we are about to see each other. If anything, go tell after you had a lovely time... what the heck did she said to him, "Oh I'm so looking forward to visit your old work place for a couple of days so I can fuck the brain out of your friend"?
Yesterday I couldn't catch a sleep in anticipation, now I wish something happens to prevent her to come thursday. I'm feeling his presence already, like if he's an owl on her shoulder.
Edit:
Like if I haven't already my coscience problems, as in the last couple of days Josie -another co-worker living in here- seems to be (finally) openly signaling her interest in me. I like her a lot, as a friend, I'm feeling bad I might have been leading her on flirting a bit more than usual lately.
And what do you know, apparently the aforementioned guy is very fond of her too
his problem, but still.*for the first time in her life!
~
Thanks again for your love about my dog
