Fortnite (new game by Epic Games)

The whole concept reminds me a lot of the great hero- / tower defense from the great WC3 custom map era!

I think it's too much TD for me, plus the lead designer sounds way too pretentious. Probably gonna pass on this.

he's straightforward about the mechanics without adding any layers of nonsense.

Ugh I hate F2P. Puts me off of games before I even play them.

It's just his gesticulation and the way he talks in the first few scenes (all I watched before I turned the video off) that really puts me off. He's way too smug. I watched some more of it now and it's not so bad later, but way to make a first impression.

That being said, this is still totally not my type of game. I'm not a builder outside of the scope of game levels, which is why stuff like Minecraft never really appealed to me. I take it their influence is probably a lot of minecraftian tools and ways of building to be creative.

I'm surprised you took issue with the guys in the video, they were impressive as fuck to me with what they were saying, and they seemed pretty genuine and passionate. Also WOW this game looked polished. Easily the most polished building/crafting game I've seen yet.

Oh yeah, nothing towards the game really, I'm sure it's going to be fun.

And it's a free-to-play model! they seem to have a system that really involved you in the game what makes you want to pay and involve you more and more. I'm sure we're gonna have a lot of content. Love you Epic

Why not give the game a chance? Only because other games that put you off have used the same business model, it doesn't mean this game has to be shit. I know you've been playing a lot of Hearthstone and even though this is not a Blizzard game I hear Epic Games has released a few cool games in the past as well...

Hearthstone was the first and most likely last game I will enjoy within the F2P model purely because it was a card game.

Thanks! Indeed it's pretty cool. I've only play in coop with 1 player, I'd like to see how it is with 4. It's quite fun as I expected but there's a bunch of things I didn't understood yet.

Yeah the game is really built to play with others, but the solo game will get better with time, we intend to make it work well. The current tutorial is not the best either, but we're cooking up a new one as I type this. Lets have a game sometime, would love to get your feedback.
