Currently at 98%... Should unlike within the next couple of hours. Looks like some sort of sci-fi game. This is very exciting, imagine if its like System Shock 2!

Anybody got any more info on this? I saw they were advertising for a gameplay programmer position a while ago and mentioned they wanted someone who liked sci-fi and horror.. Apart from that, I don't know anything more!

    Excited

cool. I've followed their blog for a while and is definitely my favorite when it comes to game design writing (like this). the website is down, but I have good faith whatever they're making next will be good.

That's kind of how suspense works...

I thought it was pretty interesting, though I gots the feelz that the computer will be like the main villain type thing that will eat you

Yeah, feels very SS2 in that regard. Wonder how they're going to make it unique, and I wonder if they'll keep the Amnesia-style, 'no weapons' gameplay.

i think it's safe to bet it won't have weapons gameplay. at least in the sense that it's centered around optimizing your shooting skills. the aforementioned GDC talk argues that "optimization-based" games sabotage the narrative by introducing repetitive actions that unveil the mechanical workings of the game, rather than reserving interaction for the purpose of storytelling. this is of course given that the game you are designing is mainly a narrative experience.

It's a place where people write creepy-ass stories, or rather 'files'. Some games have been based on the stories there. This one (based on this which you should read first) is so simple but still shit me up with headphones on in a dark room:

Come to think of it, how about some sort of Mapcore challenge where we each pick one SCP and try to make something with it?
