u stupid nubs arent listening. They didnt buy nuke. If u want nuke, someone besides valve is gonna have to make it and i think only the original author can sell it to be official

I just had a quick runthrough of de_tides, if you ask me....it looks a bit cartoonish. I don't really like it.

I'm really impressed by Tides actually, visually I think its a refreshing change from the other maps. Perhaps it gives off an aura or UT in some regards, but it still looks awesome, and doesn't feel horribly out of place or anything. Seems packed full of detail and still runs nicely too.

The bots, from my quick playtest, seemed awesome. I was sat in spectator mode watching through first person, and it was amazing how convincing they were. You really could forget they are bots when looking through their eyes - they take unorthodox routes, use cover well, recognise good spots to use, and panic when taken by surprise. Very good first impressions.

    EDIT: Woohoo, 100 posts

So why can't the HL2 AI be as good?

had a run through tides and played it a bit with a guy at work n sum bots, quite nice map, it might be a tad too cartoony though, but some of the style of the other maps is on the border of cartoony, so i donno. Gameplay is pretty good though, so far anyway.

Oh and the bots are really good, they actually give up a pretty good fight and dont stand in the way too much (unlike with human players, peh)

mm. it's worked out really well but i dislike it anyway. there are too much confusing thinks like concrete ceilings in damn old buildings, etc. call me fussy but it dosn't make sense ^^

otherwise really utish apart of the lighting

one of the shops is called "erotische schafe" - erotic cheeps. not too funny :-?

somewhere in the map you can see a 'flying' misplaced brush near some roof corner. that's silly mistake and certainly infuriating for the autor ^^

You can't dislike a map for the name on a sign and a single misplaced brush, surely

Its too cluttered IMO. I was constantly sticking on either a model or highly exagerated wall designs. I mean do you really think they needed a pillar every 2 meters in each wall. And call me a NOOB if you must, but where the hell is this place, it looks like disneyland.

    + Fun

    + Looks great

    + Not bad layout

    - Too many props

    - Wall supports in hall ways are OVERDONE

    - A bit cartoonish
