Can't believe there isn't a topic on this yet!

Has anybody else been playing it? I bought it a few months back and thought it seemed pretty cool but thought it seemed far too out of my depth... However, I was reading some posts about it on Reddit the other day and it inspired me to stick at it. I have now spent pretty much the past 48 hours flying around the solar system, attempting to land on moons and planets. I'm hooked!

This game is awesome, once you get to grips with it. Has anybody else been playing it? It's pretty spectacular when you make your first landing on your first moon/planet! I just landed on Duna which was a right bastard to do. Next step.. Gonna try building some sort of space station and start mining me some Kethane, yo.

This guy's just chillin on Eve, stranded. He's probably gonna starve to death the poor bastard.

This game is awesome, it's even better now that they added a career mode. I still miss some kind of clearer guidance though, I wish the objectives were more clearly listed ingame

Anyways, highly recommended, made me understand several space exploration concepts and maneuvers better!

Yeah I've been playing through career mode, it's actually quite challenging! Even getting into orbit is tricky in the beginning, and getting to the Mun. But yeah I think it's gonna kinda come to a bit of a slow down soon as I'm getting most of the good rocket parts.

It's definitely really interesting learning more about space maneuvers, and concepts such as delta-v. I spent a couple of hours last night reading all about the first Apollo missions, and it makes more sense now that I've played Kerbal! I really hope this game inspires the next generation to get into the space industry

I love the name and the "theme" of the game

also had this as a desktop background for a long while:

    *so classy*

But i dont DARE to touch the game until there is a proper smooth game entry that teaches you the mechanics and RL physical concepts in a fun and friction-less way.

I'd say that the conic section is a good entry point, or if that is a bit too dry you can jump into orbital mechanics. Hmm, but maybe if you have trouble getting to orbit you should start by looking into momentum and playing around with the various mathematical representations of the systems.

*Edit* On a more serious note the below post sums it up really nicely
