Quote from SpronyvanJohnson
You know what's worse? That a lot of people IRL come up to you saying how they love your status updates but on Facebook none of them clicks like

Well I'm not sure if a not-very personal 'That's really nice man!' is better than just clicking the like button.
Anyway, nice thread! If I ever find myself in a similar situation I'll try to remember the wisdom of this thread, haha!

I, too, judge my social worth by the amount of likes my facebook status posts receive.

Look, I gave you a like, it ain't a facebook like but hey, it's a like! Now be happy!

Speaking of chilling and letting things go, I don't know what happened to me too lately; because this is a terrible thing, i think i care about politics. i need some help. Even worse, i'm starting to think that's there is no culture or art without politics.
For example, Chainsaw, do you know this is very hard for me to read this albert einstein quote after watching a neoliberal propaganda video monkeying subversive values, to finish by hammering "think different" in an imperative sentence. It is.
This particular pathology is actually affecting my personnal life, as for a meal during the holidays, i think it went too far when i talked politics with my step mother. Only to realise my foolishness when she left the table insulting me.
Please what should i do, I'm trying to follow your advices guys and find my inner buddha, but i may not be fat enough to have one.

I used to date a girl who once complained that some guy didn't want to have an argument about politics with her at the cafeteria at lunch, and that made her mad. I died inside a little for thinking I had been with her for a month and only then did I realize what a freak she was, then I dumped her.

Well, some time has passed and things have improved dramatically for me. I went beyond acceptance and decided to forgive my work nemesis and have a good heart to heart with him. Me doing that changed his attitude a lot and me not being mad anymore improved the overall work environment. Don't get me wrong, they are still fuck ups and cheats, it just doesn't upset me anymore. Not being mad at my nemesis and forgiving all his faults was such a relief. I'm not one for religion but the whole forgiving thing certainly has a lot of perks. It feels so weird though. You've been mad for so long and like that, with a snip of the fingers, all that baggage is gone by something so simple as accepting and forgiving. There's real power in that.
