That reminds me; I wish you could clip building pieces further into each other and into the environment. Would allow you to build things with less gaps when you're using objects that don't snap together.

Would've been nice if the metal and wood buildings shared the same base size so they could be built interchangeably. The metal structures are pretty crappy, and I've yet to be attacked to know what the difference between them is yet

Yeah, the structure pieces seem pretty poorly thought out in terms of how they fit together. I especially love the corner piece that's inside out. :/
In regards to wood vs. metal: there's no difference aside from aesthetics.

I finished the main story with the BOS - 97 hours in. Still tons of stuff to do, and I have to say not one quest or activity in the entire game so far was uninteresting for me.

I did the Human Error quest last night involving the Covenant. That was good.

Funny enough i'm 76 hours in and didn't even come across another power armor then the one from the intro yet. On the other hand i have like 15 settlements now. Guess Bethesda didn't lie when they said thers things to do for 400 hours.

Maybe i've played in the wrong map areas so far? I've only done the first main quest, no BOS, Haven't even explored the city yet, only went to diamond city twice and crossed some parts of it on travels to quest markers. The game is actualy a lot bigger then it seems at first. even found a location outside of what looks like the map borders on the pip boy.

Started on another building in my main settlement. I think I'm gonna try and get a Ewok village sort of style going along and connecting to a few of the old houses.

Played for 100+ hours according to steam for my first play though. I didn't really explore much as the lure of the main story kept pulling me in. Already started a second play though on very hard as a melee character.

I didn't have any issues at all with crashes, though I played totally vanilla. Early mods for Bethesda games are always rushed and crash heavy so I never bother. Did have one quest bug out though and I couldn't complete it, had to google how to fix it and use console commands to end the quest. Glad using the console doesn't disable achievements this time round.

Read only if you completed the game though the BOS. I tried to RP as a distraught parent as much as possible.

I played though following the brotherhood. When I stumbled upon the police station and seeing Danse in the new T60 armour and how cool it looks, I decided the brotherhood is the way to go to find the people who took my son. And Danse was my follower for pretty much the rest of the game. Spent most of the rest of the game in a brotherhood painted T60 armour and a laser rifle I bought in Diamond city.

Eventually found my way to the institute, and I didn't believe that the old man was telling the truth so i refused to work with him and he kicked me out. Didn't even get to see the woman from Fallout 3 that they asked me to bring back.

The railroad also seemed like a bunch of fools wanting to rescue the synths so i refused to work with them as well.

Then there was the personal story with Danse. I was gutted as he was my follower for the entire game, now his corpse is in some bunker all alone while i am promoted to Paladin. Was so hard to do what had to be done.

Then of course we break into the institute and proceed to kill everyone. I shot the old man on his deathbed, and the place was nuked.

My new play though I will explore a lot and be in no hurry to complete the main quest. There is so much to see despite people complaining before release how the map is so small. A lot of the stuff downtown is quite condensed so there is plenty to explore and so much environment story telling.

Also I feel that they might have been a little too reserved with some of the new features. Like with the gun and armour customization. Why cant all that stuff be painted. Same with the power armour, I am surprised they didn't allow you to craft some paint and colour the parts. Maybe I just miss it from MGS5, but seems like a missed opportunity to me. And I don't like relying on mods for things that really should be in the base game.

And the body armour layers was such a cool idea, but there seems to be so little available and not a lot you can do to have such a unique looking character. Spent most of the game in the vault suit and leather armour. But not sure why as I didn't understand what the difference between the different materials were. The game doesn't explain much about weapon and armour weight and how much it effects your AP and sneak. So I just did a majority of questing in power armour and only got out when doing smaller odd jobs.

Regarding the size of the map, in fallout 3 a lot of DC wasn't traversable. You kept taking loading screens between places. FO4 has much less of that and is far more free roaming. I also refuse to believe that there is nothing in the right portion of the map which is mainly sea... There must be something down there, maybe Rivet city will somehow be operational and float along?

Honestly it's easily my favorite map of the past three Fallout games. It has the city that Fallout 3 was supposed to have, it has more variety than ever before and it has soooo many locations.
