Personally I love the trailer, but maybe I'm biased because I'm a massive Fallout fan.
From the trailer:
Can you tell I'm excited?
Quote from BuddyI think with this game it's more of an artists problem I'm afraid. Must be said however that the art direction seems better than Fo3 this time. I'd much rather play less than perfect looking game with decent quests than the other way around (see Gta V)
I think the art direction is fine, you just named another open-world game that looks better, and it came out a long time ago. That for me is the depressing part, I guess I have to get used to Bethesda gamebryo games having only "OK" graphics. It would be cool if they were PC exclusive and we got to see an amazing futuristic-graphics Fallout, but I guess that's just a fantasy. To me this trailer left me less hyped than the Fallout 3 trailers did, but whatever.

I dunno, even Skyrim's visuals didn't look incredible when I saw the first trailer. There were plenty of open-world games that looked better than Skyrim at the time. I remember being disappointed at the time, but it's clear that the appeal of Bethesda's games is something much more. Almost as soon as they open the world up, the graphics just sort-of take a backseat. It's also important to keep in mind that the visuals of Bethesda's games have always been very modular. If you're disappointed with how it looks, there will most certainly be a 2k texture pack +ENB presets to spice things up. With the right presets and texture packs you can make Skyrim look like a game released this year.
The whole "next-gen" thing really screws with the level of expectations for new-releases. It sucks because graphics are one of the easiest things to get hyped over and also one of the easiest things to be disappointed in. I'm not sure if I've seen a game that screams "next-gen" or makes that leap from what we expect from games now to the "future" - even though the consoles have been out for 2 years almost. I don't think I ever really expected it to be a Bethesda game that would make the leap in visuals. I guess in a way that is depressing, but all things considered - the visuals look to me like an improvement on their previous works. Maybe it will be Valve's first Source 2 game or something to make the jump to what we consider "next-gen". Who knows.

It was meant technically and graphically.

My whole post was pure sarcasm and repeating everything everybody else said. How did you not get that when I actually referred to my real response within the first sentence ![]()

I really, really like the idea of being able to explore the world before the nukes go off. I imagine the game will start with you and maybe your family and dog or something, all living out your lives before the nuke. Maybe you start in your car going to work, or coming home from work, back to your idyllic, American Dream-style house with a lovely, well-kept lawn, your wife and kids waving you off or back from work.... You spend the evening with your family, and then the nukes go off. You pack your things hastily, and escape to your assigned Vault. Then maybe.... To explain the time difference, perhaps you get cryogenically frozen, and then wake up decades, or a century later.. Your family are missing. You have to find them.
Could be awesome ![]()

You just wrote out the entire storyline for Fallout 5
Retailers confirm a 2015 release date ![]()
Website links to Amazon and GAME for UK pre-orders, but neither had a price.
However, the Fallout4 Steam Page is up, and comes with the hefty price tag of £50...
I don't like this new "standard price"... I attribute this spiralling price increase to CoD pushing up the prices to match console prices...
I never trust retailers release dates but since Bethesda's own site did say 2015 also it does seem like a good bet. I really hope it is this year, so hyped! ![]()
I'm not really liking the new prices either. It's a whole £20 on top of the regular PC game prices which has suddenly been sprung upon us over the last year it seems. Trouble is people must be paying it else publishers wouldn't do it.
I would recommend against preordering the standard edition at least until E3 anyway. I'm expecting at least 3 versions of this one ![]()
£50 for a PC game is ridiculous but I'll pay through the nose for fallout though...I'll be buying the OMG double deluxe super l33t version that's been sealed with deathclaw tears.
stop fucking preordering games. Jesus.
You're a fucking idiot if you pre order.
wait until someone adds it to fallout nexus, done.
