You can get a used PS4 for ~200.

Or, you can get a PS3 for around 75 bucks or less and play all the Uncharted games and last of us. They wouldn't be 60fps like the HD remaster, but it also wasn't the first time I played them and it was still an amazing experience to play every single one of those games. They're games that I still replay up to this day, I just finished all 3 again in preparation for this one, it's like having your favourit desert again, it's not as impactful as the first time but it's still delicious as fuck.

Okay, I couldn't sleep so I just finished the game last night. About 18 hours on "moderate" difficulty. I really don't know what to say, there's so much to talk about. I feel the same way after playing every new Naughty Dog release, I'm just in awe of what they've managed to accomplish. I think I'm just gonna play it again.

On the surface they've managed to create an awesome blockbuster action experience, but they've filled it with so much depth in both a story and gameplay sense. The characters and the story feel genuine and relatable in alot of ways, despite it all taking place in this incredibly stylized reality. Even though Uncharted games are known for being very cinematic, they really do tell their story in a way that could only be done through the medium of video games. They nailed both the active/action levels and the more passive/exploratory levels. It's clear that they learned alot from the The Last of Us with it's more understated environmental storytelling, and it makes exploring each level such a rich and rewarding experience. Everything about this game hits a level of polish/perfection that you just don't see in video games.

Uncharted 4 is how you make a blockbuster game the right way, I just hope that other AAA studios are influenced by what ND have managed to achieve. No matter what interests you about video games, whether it be action, storytelling, art, design, technology, music etc. - I guarantee this game will have something that will fascinate you. If I were going to show anyone one game to explain to them why video games are incredible, I would show them Uncharted 4. It really is one of our young medium's masterpieces.

Below are some of my screenshots that I took along the way, the scenery is absolutely stunning. Can confidently say it's the most beautiful game I've ever played. (Location spoilers for the entire game! Scroll at your own risk!)

Spoiler These caverns actually look photo-realistic, even with the screenshots being compressed. Just insane.

Alot of what you can see in the distance in this shot below is explorable terrain, either on foot or by jeep. Of course there's a limit but it's very open-ended.

You use your jeep throughout this level and other levels in the game to solve puzzles/explore in really interesting ways.

There are more settings/themes than just these. I just don't have very good screenshots from every single level. Every level looks incredible.

Finished it earlier, apart from taking a while to get properly going and from my experience having a really rough first impression with the very first boat scene, then it's absolutely phenomenal once it does going.

I'd almost dare to say that this outdoes Uncharted 2, a game I hold in probably too high regard anyway, and feels like a much more considered and impactful experience than Uncharted 2, even if you do end up having slaughtered some 500 guys by the end of the game. Also cannot be understated just how fucking gorgeous this game is, especially the latter half of the game just looks unbelievably good, I bet most folks here end up taking way longer to play through this game than regular peoples since we end up standing around and just marveling at how good this shit looks.

Combined with cutscenes that almost feels like a middle finger to other game dev when they seamlessly blend from gameplay to cutscenes and keep the same weapons in the cutscenes, crazy pants. Absolutely wonderful small scale sandbox encounters as well, really dug the level design in the later locations.

Anyway, best game in a long while, you're officially a crazy person if you don't play this (or buy a PS4 to play this). The End.

Been planning to get a used PS4 since they announced those remasters, and skip the hassle of the PSGrill.

Had some spare change some month and a half ago but ended up putting it in the bank instead. Wanted to buy the games and play on the PS4 of a colleague (is in the shared staff room) but in the end don't have much time to play anything and saved the money for those games as well.

    So much DO WANT tho.

Yeah.....was going to wait a month before investing in this experience.....no. I've also been trying to lift my jaw from the floor the entire time I've been playing.

7h in so far....and not counting the very first "rough" scene at the beginning, It's just been like some kind of super heroin. I guess everyone I meet in the near future will be hearing me praise the shit out of this game :D

I'm still not that far in but I've been really enjoying the photo mode. I'm going to stop using it so much now though because it's making me take way too long to get through areas haha.

Nothing spoilery here really as it's just a bunch of screenshots from the fourth chapter:

Wow, such vistas. So "tenuta Rossi", means they also go to Italy? That looks like the Costiera Amalfitana, do they make any reference to real world places?

Just finished, really a great game!

Visually stunning, I was impressed with how cohesive the quality of all the environments felt, lots of very awesome and varied areas.

Gameplay wise I really liked that there are areas with more focus on a chance to be stealthy than just take cover and gun. I wish some more encounters were like that though. Climbing, sliding and swinging felt polished and seems like there were some more small route options this time around!

I do miss a bit of the more lighter "adventurer" vibe that the first two games had. It came a little closer to The Last of Us in that regard IMO.

Overall really enjoyed it, I'd put it as my third favorite in the series for sure!

Wanted to add, that is third after two of my favorite games last generation, I still can't quite pick 1 or 2, they are both just phenomenal games!

Overwatch and Doom are just sittin' there on my desk collecting dust. So sad.

Just finished this! I did enjoy it, but I'm getting old and cynical and over-the-top setpieces don't impress me as much anymore. Great art tho!!!! Damn!

Disliked a lot of the combat areas which I felt very overly vertical with too much looping around. The pirate storyline didn't really get a good resolution, felt a bit half-baked.

And again, dat art tho!!! DAMN!
