A long and in-depth interview with me can be found on onlysp.com about the gameplay and vision of Solus, with lots of new info on what the game is about: http://www.onlysp.com/solus-unreal-e…sive-interview/

Also here is a quick in-game shot showing our PDA pocket computer that acts as our hud (ignore the huge crosshair dot). Gameplay wise the game is working out fine, we got most functonality fully working now. When the time is right I will release a gameplay video.

Here's an idea. Let someone from mapcore (Like Jord) play the game live on twitch for 5-10 minutes and let that be your game play video. I always think its less cool when I watch a game designer play the game in a "cinematic" way. The way HE intends us to play (watching the right stuff, always know where to go etc). I am always more interested in watching someone with no previous experience playing a game to see what its actually like.

I presented Unreal Engine 4 and Blueprint scripting at the Swedish Game Awards earlier this month, on behalf of Epic Games. The hour long presentation focuses on the new visual scripting system Blueprint and how it impacts the way we build games and levels. During the presentation I set up a lightning strike script, followed by taking a look at how Blueprint impacts the development of Solus.

The quality of the projector recording isn’t always superb but it will give you an idea of how scripting in UE4 works.

I met him when he was visiting Denmark last month and even with a schedule like that then he didn't seem that stressed out. So he obviously has to be a robot

    We are now live!

2.5 years of focus and work but part 1 is now up on Steam and GOG. Xbox One follows in 1 week. A major update more than doubling the content follows in 2-3 weeks.

Oh and here is the Announcement trailer, which I don't think is in this thread yet. The two videos complement each other.

    Congrats on the release!

I watched a video of yours that popped up in my YT stream recently... if there's a suggestion I can make, I would like to see the tool/weapon models have some sway because right now they feel too static.

Let me know if you want some additional exposure. I can ask if I can review it for Eurogamer Benelux.

Part 2 is out now, check out our vacation trailer! Tired of life on Earth?

If you guys are into level design the game is pretty much entirely that. It is many hours worth of massive levels and environments. It is all about the world and the environmental story telling. And it is old school classic 90s FPS style.

Its been really hard to get anyone to buy the game though. Lot of people seem to just wait for full release but that impacts us pretty hard in the mean time. We had great press coverage so far and Youtubers support with a few big ones vouching hard for the game. Edge just did a 4 page special etc. But the public itself just doesn't respond at all...

Sorry to hear that. I was probably one of the first to buy it since Vuk informed me. Haven't played it yet tho, but definitely will when the full release is out. Needs some good promotions and sales to kick off probably. Insurgency started a bit slow but we are at 2.3 million owners now i believe. The Steam sales always helped tremendously and after that word of mouth.

Took 1073 days of continuous 24/7 work, 15 UE4 releases, 12-16 hours of content, VR support, 10k assets, 15k+ BP nodes, ~100k meshes placed, runs 60 FPS, and a filesize less than 10 GB in size.

Sales are still low so any help you can give with spreading the word would be much appreciated!

This was by far my biggest project and was absolutely crazy to build something this big with almost no resources, no office, and while working multiple other jobs.

Now to figure out what I will suddenly do with all this time I have available now...

Purchased without hesitation. I learned a lot from your tutorials back in the day, I'm really excited to play this.
