    Tower of Icarus
    [Blocked Image: http://alexandertaylor.net/images/pre_tower_f.png]

A platformer created for the Procedural Death Jam where the goal was to create a game in the newly coined Procedural Death Labyrinth genre (roguelikelikes, roguelites, etc).

The world is randomly generated as progress is made up the tower. The player and enemies all benefit from statistics that can be rewarded or removed either permanently or temporarily by drinking potions. Potion effects are randomised each game. It was rather 'inspired' by Kid Icarus.

    Web Player and Windows Download.

A more fleshed out version of this would be a really fun game to play on a tactile portable (3ds/vita)

I've since made Sword and Shovelry (which I'm quite proud of) and Bit of Garden (which sucks). Also today I finished Fire Escape for 7DFPS where you have a teleport gun and do some platforming.

Here's a video of the short route - there is a longer one if you can find all the secrets. Spoiler video here.

Few weeks ago I made Boxing Day with some friends for the Great British Winter Game Jam competition in London. The theme was British Winter and it is a local cooperative multiplayer game about kids pushing a box down a muddy hill and pretending it's a snowy mountain.

Everyone contributes to the steering of the box and gets one special responsibility (ex: horn scares deer). Levels are randomly generated from predefined parts, Spelunky style, and speed and frequency increases as you go.

That's right, I moved this to General Discussion. Call the cops.

I've made about 16 games in 2 years now. I'm sure I'll do a load more in 2015, but I am thinking about actually making a bigger project rather than all these game jam plops. They're fun, though. Global Game Jam is coming up in January, is anyone planning on joining in with that?

Congrats Taylor! You're a fucking machine

I love the concept of the latest game, the art as well is perfect. Seems the kind of game that would be fun to have on console and portable devices.

Having just gotten the computer haven't thought about GGJ, but it's unlikely anyway I can make it, dunno when I'll be off in the first weeks of new year really

That box sledge one is so awesome, watching the video was making me smile hearing how much fun people were having with it. While I guess that groups of friends might only play such games a relatively small number of times, you just can't beat the laughs they bring.

Thanks! Maybe we'll submit it to one of those indie local co-op events the cool kids do these days.

There's the upcoming Mini-Ludum Dare 56 where you pick random things and nobody really cares about the rules or anything. I selected these prime cuts:

So far I have created this. And I think it's probably the best thing I've ever made.

So, since I'm posting here again I might as well pimp what I've done since!

    [Blocked Image: http://alexandertaylor.net/images/pre_walpurgis.png]

The main thing was I finished and published a full game, which is called Walpurgis Night and is a pretty hardcore Android/iOS dodge 'em up set in a fireworks display. It sold terribly. but it's a hardcore, premium game on iOS and nobody covered it so whatcha gonna do. It's made back its production costs, at least, I mean if you assume I worked on it for 2 years for nothing.

    [Blocked Image: http://alexandertaylor.net/images/pre_pong.png]

New Super Pong was a Mini-Ludum Dare with the theme Pong. It's a one button platformer where you automatically bounce off walls. Looks like all my other games.

    [Blocked Image: http://alexandertaylor.net/images/pre_weapossession.png]

Weapossession was a pretty terrible game for Ludum Dare 32: An Unconventional Weapon where you have to possess other enemies and collide them in an arena shooter.

    [Blocked Image: http://alexandertaylor.net/images/pre_duskwalker.png]

Duskwalker has a larger image than the others for some reason. It's a clone of Werewolves of London I made for Ludum Dare 33: You are the Monster. Basically there is a day/night cycle and during the day you can do little more than walk around, but during the night you turn into a monster, police shoot you, civilians run from you, and you can kill things. The goal is to track down and kill the people who have cursed you that are identified by a cross appearing on the HUD if they are nearby. So, the cycle is to figure out who is a baddie, stalk them until nightfall, kill them and avoid the police until morning. It's... actually pretty cool.

    [Blocked Image: http://alexandertaylor.net/images/pre_left-leaning.png]

Left-Leaning was for Ludum Dare 34: Two Buttons and it's a very hard game where you have to steer a car around a course with your two buttons: turn left and toot horn. The latter does nothing. It did well in Ludum Dare, 3rd place for fun, but a couple of Streamers and YouTubers picked it up making my traffic go crazy.

    [Blocked Image: http://alexandertaylor.net/images/pre_revamp.png]

Revamp is an extremely hard platformer about a shapeshifting vampire for Ludum Dare 35: Shapeshift. Most people didn't finish it according to the comments. I like it, but there are some serious pacing issues.

There we go. Up to date.

The concept for Duswalker sounds really cool-fun!

Left leaning seems visually appealing from the screenshot, description reminds me of a certain mobile game I can't remember the name.

    I should try them!
