Just finished my cut last week. About 8 months, went from 205 lbs to 167. Energy levels bottomed out . Back at maintenance now, and when my weight stabilizes it's time to bulk

It's been 4 weeks and I'm at 102,7 kilo now. Which means I gained 0,4 kilo. Raising a child, not sleeping, not working out, irregular hours and irregular eating (the easy way, take out) does that unfortunately. It's hard to remain disciplined and my goal of 100 by July first is in jeopardy now. So, I have to find a way to get back on track!

Ah shit, forgot to update this.

Well, even though I'm doing cardio like a man possessed, I'm having a hard time losing weight. This has mostly to do with me still having a lot of problems eating better although I have certainly improved in that area as well. Not really down about it because my stamina has increased ten fold. In the past, I could probably have sex with Dux for 1 minute but now that I'm working out I'm sure I could keep going for like 30 minutes.

Anyway, on the 28th of June I was down to 101.9 (week 6) and on the 5th of July I was down to 101.8. So little progress in that department. Meaning I lost 4,6 kilo in 7 weeks (I miscalculated before) and I didn't make my deadline.

Gotta agree about that. If you add a lot of healthy fats, like coconut oil, avocados, nuts, fish, grassfed beef cooked in an intelligent way, and then don't eat any/many carbs, it's virtually impossible to keep weight on your body because all your body is doing is burning that shit off.

It's time. Going to put some effort into workout/diet as I want to lose some reserve kilos I have. Going to depart from my "eat whatever the fuck I want, when I fucking want"-lifestyle. Thanks for sharing tips and info in this thread (mkanderson most recently)! Current Puddy specs:

    Height: 1.96m

    Current weight: 93 kg

Highest recorded weight: 103 kg (4-5 years ago)

Lowest recorded weight*: 83 kg (after hospital stay lmao)

Dude, in general you might be right but BUT what if you have like to much fats ? 1g of fat is 9calories, 1g of carbs is 4 calories ? IMO stupid is to cut carbs to like less than 150 g per day, you need energy

Indeed. I wouldn't suggest to Sprony to have my low carb intake for example. Poor guy would be flat on his face in hours.

Fat gives you energy too guys Not saying to never eat carbs, but the idea that you need a ton of carbs a day doesn't really check out.

Fat loss = eat less sloppy carbs, more healthy fats and veggies.

That's what me and knj are saying though dude, don't eat sloppy carbs. Eat good carbs and only good carbs (which will also give you room to cheat occasionally). You can lose weight just as well with sensible carb intake, which is what I do. I just do a reduced rate as that what my body responds best to

If I could eat 200 grams of carbs everyday without bloating up like an elephant I totally would

P.S the veins on my lower abdominals are finally coming through

srsly dude, where do you find these "theories" this is soo bullshit !

Fat loss = eating less callories than you burn during a day ! You need and should make your metabolism faster - like me. I could eat over 500g carbs per day (I'm not sayin it's good for all but for bulking for me - ideal). You, eating just a bowl of rice a day and eating veggies (GOOD for vitamins and fiber, but don't count it like a "energy carb") are making your metabolism very, VERY slow that's why carbs at this point are bad for you. Adding like 30-50 calories per week (from carbs) will make your metabolism faster and faster without making you fat ect - this is called Reveres dieting.

Remember - starvation is not a diet !!

Yeah I don't agree about the calories thing. That's a bit of "bro science" imo, not all calories are created equal. Calories from beef and calories from snicker bars aren't the same, so I don't think it's even helpful to talk about calories. Much more helpful to talk about macronutrients, carbohydrates, saturated fats, etc.

Let's say you ate the same amount of calories from an avocado and a snicker bar. One will burn fat from your body, one will add it.

Are we really comparing snickers bars to avocados now? lol cmon man. It's basic calories in vs calories out. Anyone looking to complete their macros with a snickers bar is a chump OR is on cheat day (fine) OR bulking and doesn't mind it getting a little dirty (fine).

The reason I used the avocado vs. snicker is it proves that certain calories have totally different properties than other calories, thus making "calories in vs. calories burned" not helpful at all. It's like talking about the weight of the food you eat, if you eat one pound of food that doesn't tell you anything about the meal itself or the effect it will have on your body.

500 calories of any two foods are going to be completely different in the macronutrient composition, so its much more helpful to talk about foods you're eating and food quality.

Ok sorry dude you're just talking nonsense now

Here's some random fucking doctor talking about it first result I googled. It's pretty simple stuff.

    http://drhyman.com/blog/2014/04/10/calories-dont-matter/

"Take a class of sixth graders. Show them a picture of 1,000 calories of broccoli and 1,000 calories of soda. Ask them if they have the same effect on our bodies. Their unanimous response will be “NO!” We all intuitively know that equal caloric amounts of soda and broccoli can’t be the same nutritionally. But as Mark Twain said, “The problem with common sense is that it is not too common.”"

Let's say you ate the same amount of calories from an avocado and a snicker bar. One will burn fat from your body, one will add it.

How, explain to me HOW one will add fat to your body and how the other will burn ? Maybe i'm missing smth

Not talking about vitamins/fiber and that stuff; this is deffinition of calorie (the one we are using in nutritions dieting)
The large calorie, kilogram calorie, dietary calorie, nutritionist's calorie, nutritional calorie, Calorie or food calorie (symbol: Cal) is approximately the amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of one kilogram of water by one degree Celsius

So ENERGY VISE 100calories from avocado and 100calories from snicers bar will do EXACTLY THE SAME TO YOU (again, energy vise).

Lets say someone will eat 3 000 kcalories eating only veggies like broccoli, salads, fruits like avocado ect, and other will eat exactly 3000 calories eating shit food/snickers bars ect, who will get more fat out of it ?
again I'm not talking about health/vitamins/fiber just pure energy consumption
