Going Moab !

    Every summer I road trip to a random destination and this year I'm going Moab !


    Why ? Because of you guys ! You r always posting stuff about Grand Canyon related.

    So I'm going to Moab joining friends of mine for practicing Slackline with Andy Lewis and Taig Khris !

    I got my Passport and my ESTA registration (kind of Visa) but I still need information and advice to success my trip.


    - Where to shop a prepaid phone card ? How much its cost ? Will the SIM compatible with my iPhone 3Gs ? Is Minos gay ?

    - How can I join Moab from Salt Lake City ? Shuttle service ? Which ones ? How many its cost ? Better take the taxi ? Are the 'Mericans use to take stranger who hitch-hike ?

    - My kinky dream is to get in touch with the native american (Prey player spotted) ! Is a Mapcorian could tell some some tips to achieve this ? Where they live and those kind of stuff...

    - I might have other question while I'm preparing my trip !

    More than to worry about the SIM, I think you should verify if the phone can operate in CDMA networks, i remember iPhone were sold separately for US market and rest of the world (GSM) until iPhone 4. But maybe "rest of the world" phones can double operate(?).

    I forgot to compliment you for the amazing trip; my best friend just went to the big parks for his honeymoon, also my uncle is from Utah and I'm so sad i was never able to visit the US and him there (he has now moved).

    It's maybe already in your plans, but I'd suggest you take a microlight flight if available, or any kind of flyover you can book on the canyons: i've flown over the Victoria Falls and it is one of the best 20 minutes in my life (also, it seemed to last well over just half an hour of flight).

    As with anywhere in the US apart from the coasts/major cities, driving is really the only way to get around. Ideally you'd get a rental car, but if you can't drive that obviously isn't an option. I've been to Utah numerous times and it is extremely empty. There are lots of cool things but they're hours of freeway driving apart, so having a car will let you experience a lot of different stuff.


    And if the hitchhiking was a serious idea, I wouldn't recommend it. There's a lot of paranoia around "o no spooky hitchikers gonna murder u" so I don't think most people would be willing to pick people up.


    Also Utah is extremely conservative so you'll probably run into a lot of stereotypical 'murica stuff. Be prepared.

    Finally taking a flight to Moab international airport ! But thanks for the advice. The next part of the journey is a road trip through the US on Road 66 going Las Vegas, LA, Santa monica and maybe SF !


    Heard the road 66 has been closed anyone can confirm ?

    Route 66 is still around, but its mostly just there for tourists since they built the interstate highway system. The interstates are better maintained and go everywhere.


    If you wanted to go to Vegas, LA, Santa Monica, and San Francisco, the I-15 connects Salt Lake and Vegas, then meets up with the I-10 which goes all the way through LA and ends in Santa Monica. To get to SF theres a couple routes but I would recommend taking the Pacific Coast Highway which goes all the way north along the coast and is really beautiful.

    Hey guys I'm back from the US ! This country is so... oh boy so Awesome! Right on! This is the best trip I ever made! Murican people are really kind, aware, always ready to help. Damn I felt like in GTA San Andreas. So I don't know If I should preorder GTA V or buy a way back.


    The sure thing is that I'm going to create a thread to share all the stuff I shoot and picked. Hope you'll enjoy the stuff men!
