Seems to be about the same engine as Watch Dogs? Except that in WD there are ppl all over the city and in The Division the world is cluttered with trash and debris.

What is it going to be like in 5 years, 2018?

Different engine according to Wikipedia. The two don't actually look that similar IMO, the newer footage of Watch Dogs doesn't look as impressive to me as the earlier footage did. Maybe some things are being held back because of its current-gen release. This still looks awesome.

Watch dogs looks pretty different from this (graphics / engine wise). What you on about? lol

Was relating the two games by the openess of both worlds and by what I felt somewhat similar, the camera flying up at the end of both game's trailers

    Yeah, it's awesome!

I don't like forced tablet/console/PC crossplatform gaming, but this is pretty cool:

Yeah, I dunno, but I'm glad they're doing it!

With that being said, I might get this on PS4, it's not fast twitch gameplay so I don't need to go PC.

Titanfall and Destiny on the other hand, I'll deffo go PC.

yes, but keep in mind that NOWHERE is "in game footage" ect, so i'm getting very calm about it. Just like Watch Dogs - from trailer to trailer looking more like shit and more like last gen

    Yup, two different engines.

Watch_Dogs is using Disrupt, The Division Snowdrop. Massive built it from the ground up for the game. And yes, it does look that good in-game for The Division.

I dunno, never say never. I mean it looks great, but not ridiculously and impossibly so. If programmers back in the 80s could accomplish big feats with the technology they had, why not the engine developers of today? It's about time we saw some 'surely not' kind of graphics. Could Crytek finally be knocked off the perch of graphics domination?!

Well, we'll see. Pity we've got to wait so long for this. Q4 2014? Shieeeeet.

It's not the graphics tech that is impressive, its actually quite mundane stuff that unreal and cryengine have done for a few years now. Its the absurd amount of detail in the scene + all the effects + all the "non scripted" things like the car door being pushed.and the car getting shot and having a hundred holes made in it. Those together make me extreme skeptical, especially considering Ubisofts significant downgrades on WatchDogs since its first reveal.

Exactly this. In this day and age it's less about the tech and more about the art direction, attention to detail... And basically manhours.

I want it to be true but I'm very skeptical they can make it look that good everywhere in the game Then again... It's Ubisoft and they're known for throwing an insane amount of people on a project so who knows.

The last of us, Halo 4... Miracles do happen

I wasn't really amazed by the tech demo from a technical point of view either, doesn't seem all that special. But the art, holy damn keep it coming!

Well, it wouldn't be the first time a Ubi studio has blown my mind. We already forgotten how stunning Assassin's Creed was towards the beginning of the last generation — mostly because of the scale and attention to detail?
