My question is can you play with that enhanced source engine. If Yes, I'm within at 200% !

Yeah I'd like to know if the SDK will be made available with this.

EA doesn't usually distribute tools and embrace community modifications, right? So I wouldn't put any hope in that.
-
Afaik EA does, in fact, embrace community modifications, at the very least the devs do. It depends on what you mean by embrace though... EA hasn't gone out of their way of making it happen cos it costs money to convert the tools to be used by the public, that much is true I suppose. And obviously hacks or injectors (for Battlefield) pose security risks so they are banned as well.
But I'm fairly sure there is no policy in place that prohibits developers from shipping with tools... But since EA is paying for the development, resources usually don't get put on creating these tools. Someone has to go out of their way to make it happen.

There's at least one EA (partners) title I know of that eventually got an editor, although only about a year after release, and that's Battleforge. Another one is Mirror's Edge, even though that was a hacked editor. Regardless, the devs were really helpful in giving the community the knowledge to use that editor.
Since Titanfall is a Source title they might ship with a working SDK version? I don't know how much effort it takes to make it compatible for the public, so EA could affect that outcome but since they're not wholly owned by EA it might work in their favor. We'll find out I suppose.

Clarify Puddy. If you know of any examples where mods got banned even though they were totally legal I would love to know about it.
They're not against it and welcome it if it is done in a legal way, they just don't supply the tools. That's not the same as opposing it.
Embracing it would mean fully supporting and encouraging it, I think it's fair to say EA doesn't do that.

-
Seems like I often end up in these things soley based on semantics, lol
My bad since English is not my native tongue but hey... that's why I usually leave lenghty explanations...
-
Are you serious? EA supports mods? Remember when BF3 came out and they said the game was "too advanced" to release their tools? Yeah, that doesnt seem like support to me.

Well I think that SDKs, the Steam Workshop and such things are signs of "embracing" modifications imho.
To me, EA's policy seems to be to tolerate mods, at best.

Have to say at the MSFT press conference Titanfall got a lot of silent, approving nods. It's familiar (COD with double jumps and mechs as Mazy said) and it looks good but probably not the most cutting edge possible. However gameplay it does feel evolutionary, not really revolutionary...but honestly how much was revolutionary at the MSFT conference so I can't really knock Titanfall. I'd play it.
One question...is it MP only? I haven't the time to really parse through that but just curious. Still looks fun.

Yup, MP only. Although it does look like they're going for a MP-campaign kind of vibe, not sure how exactly that will work.
I wasn't aware I was looking at MP footage at first bth
(Yup, the scoring was super confusing to me until I got it) -
I thought it was sp too.

You either support a community, or not. EA doesn't explicitly do that, so whatever hacked editor you can come up with, it won't be the same as being opened to the idea... you don't need to put up an infrastructure of wikis and delivery like Valve, but they certainly don't encourage it. Also, I think to remember about an episode in which they were against it after Medal Of Honor came out... if it was so, i must have heard it from All Our History on Machinima.
In the end I think it's pretty clear their reasoning is "we don't profit from it, so we don't support it".
Then, this thing is not a stock Source game, it's safe to say that it's a heavily customized version, since what they've been able to achieve. So just because it's Source, I'm not hoping for that, even though I thought for a minute about that when I read it.

But i got that feeling even more from the Imsomniac game (cool trailer though)
I was referring at the crossing between MP and SP. But yeah !

1) "Cat and mouse" in titan vs. pilot is really interesting to me. It reminds me of an original CoD map (maybe CoD United Offensive?) that was a busted city with multi level buildings, wide streets and tanks. They had RPGs scattered about and it was just soooooo cool. It was slow paced than what we're seeing in Titanfall but damn....soo cool. I don't play much BF so maybe that's nothing special.
2) Campaign multiplayer...I'm really wanting to see how this works. If done right I think that could be cool to draw in people like me who just don't play much MP in shooters anymore.
3) Dedicated servers? Nice.

The only thing that annoys me a bit, to which I didn't put much attention at the unveil, is the assault rifle that's a bit too reminiscent of the M4.
Funny thing: Arkane tried the MP-SP cross first(?) and they were using the Source too!
I always thought they were too ahead of their times with The Crossing, I kinda hope they can revive the project.
@Seldoon: yeah I did get that, but for some reason -probably the art-style- (but there's also the freerunning) I immediately thought of Brink when I saw Sunset Overdrive... with Titanfall I was too busy salivating

Did you get in to see the demo Jeremy?
