On a more serious topic does anyone else feel that all the previous seasons build up with Rickon and Osha just came to absolutely nothing and was another case of TV soap opera writing? I doubt this is what will happen to them in the books. Osha death especially. Gawd almighty that was bad.

Enjoyed the episode overall though. Hopefully we'll finally see Danearys head to Westeros now she has scared the master/s to death and she has her ships, Dothraki Horde, Unsullied and dragons now.
Rickon dying was stupid. I don't care how scared of Ramsey he was, if some dudes shooting arrows at you, you don't just run in a straight line and give him an easy time, you zig zag or at least look back and change direction when he looses his arrows.
Great battle though and nice to see the Starks finally win something I guess. Even if it was at a pretty big cost to them. Wonder what Little Finger is going to ask for in return? Probably Sansa as a wife so he'd be in control of the Vale and the North then.
Next week should be fun though!

It would be cool though, if the show would stick to Martin's style of fucking with people's expectations. So, now there's a brief moment of rejoice, a pyrrhic victory with a linger of hope, only the be completely crushed by having the wall come down and the White Walkers ending the North in the last episode. Mindfuck 
It would of made more sense and better writing to just set Rickon on fire like the other banners. But of course Ramsey misses all of his arrows but the last one. And of course Rickon runs in a straight line. I've watched it again and this episode is surrounded by THE DUMBEST writing I have ever seen. But the fighting was incredible.

Wasn't the missed arrows just a bunch of teasing by Ramsay? He wanted to give false hope? Running in a straight line is very understandable also if you are panicked.

Have to agree the writing for that episode was a nonsensical clusterfuck but the cinematography was great.

I was very unsure about how good this season would be since they are no longer following the book. But I will echo @dux with Ho Lee Shet!
The season finale was good. Finaly it felt like it's heading somewhere again.
