I was very impressed by this map.....until I played it.

The framerate is poor, and I don't think there's too much you can do about it, since it's basically a open arena with no way of blocking vis (models dont count). Also, when you take a closer look at details and such, you see alot of sloppy texture work, weird scales and so on.

    Good luck with the playtesting.

Screenies are always nice, the windows you did look great.

But ingame wasn't really fun for DM at all.

I also noticed that fps were going down at some spots, but it was barely noticable on my machine. I agree that it would prolly become a problem with many players using grav guns etc. though, at least on low spec machines.

Is there a server to check out the gameplay yet?

Well just to jump on the bandwagon, I had a run through as well. The screenshots really made it look incredible, but in game, while still pretty, it is less impressive. I spawned at the top of some fire escape on the outside of a building, and found my only real choice of route was to head down two stair sets, a ladder, and run along a platform - much too far a distance to travel without being offered an alternative route. The fire escape was also only really wide enough for a single person to fit past. I was unhappy to see this was the case with the vast majority of the map. The main interior section had potential with all the criss-crossing upper tiers, however again it is just one linear path in essence. Worse still was the exceptionally cramped lower sections - being forced to duck under train carriage connectors, and even having to crouch to get through what claims to be a doorway, just doesn't lead to a good deathmatch experience.

With looks like this, the author obviously has huge potential, but he needs to play some deathmatch games.

Yeah, I agree with ReNo. It's obviously made by a person with artistic talent, but also with no clue about layout and the like - all the walkways and interiors are mirrored off real life, not oversized like they should be.

Looks awesome but plays like sh*t. Overall performance is just too bad for multiplayer.

What a shame I mean..sure I'm sorta happy because now I have a better chance in the contest...but still..imagine how amazing this map would be if it played as good as it looks. Maybe the author can forget about the contest and just work on the layout until it's decent.

I disagree, nexus. Imagine this in a server with 10 people. Gameplay and FPS is definitely an issue.
