Looks brilliant. Superb lighting. Every brush serves a purpose, very efficient mapping. A realistic and aesthetically delightful map. It's a tad difficult to say how the gameplay works though.

edit2: what the hell, you didnt make it?

    lol just noticed that too

Apparently the creator is "brisck1" and Zeta just posted a thread about the map here. Without any bad intentions I am sure, but you could have mentioned that it isn't your map.

Oh sorry about that - was in a rush. I assumed the guys name and a link was enough.

It looks amazing, but I'm not so sure about layout. You have to work a lot to get anywhere. Hope it plays well for him

ok...just playtested the map...There is so many places where he was lazy and didnt think about gameplay. The lighting may be good but the screens make it seem better than it really is. Like in the screen where the light is coming into the windows, if you go out and look into the windows there is no light, just shadows...It looks very stupid. This map should be in alpha not beta. There are lots of places where I can go outside of the map and into the skybox...I was a little dissipointed by the map when I tested it.

I was worried when I saw it, but this map has so many problems it'll never be ready for the contest deadline. All the interiors are super super cramped, and it's a nightmare just trying to get from one place to another. This is probably the biggest problem, and it's likely unfixable without completely redoing the map. But there are other problems too.

Most of the weapons (the few that exist) are in odd places... like the RPG in a cramped room and the AR2 on top of a tower. It should probably be the other way around. The light throught the windows effect looks great from the side and completely fake from the front or rear... There are some holes in the level that let you see through to the skybox.

So, all you contest people (me included) can breathe easy. It's pretty, but there's nothing underneath the eye candy.

Another gameplay problem is that this map is one long line. Most good DM maps are circular - there is no stop to any direction you go to, there will always be a way to turn. Not this case.

The screens are unbelievably impressive, but in game, you'll find out how not-fun this map is.

That is sort of what I thought when I first saw the map. I remember a lot of cool HL maps where it was just detail stuff, but of course those maps were meant for detail and not for playing. I would have been really surprised if this played well. Damn it looks really really nice, and I am sure there a some simple changes/tweaks he could do that could make it all play a whole lot better.

Suchs that its not more circular, if he just would break up the traincars a bit more and tweak the buildings a bit more and make the map more condense then I am sure this could be a number 1 map.

Well, the window lighting is amazing as long as you look at it from the side. From anywhere else it looks like crap.

Had a runthru it yesterday. On my pretty up-to-date computer (fx-53, x800 xt, 2gigs of ram[/pimp]), it actually jagged with the framerate. Its one of the first times ive experienced it on my computer outside of 3dmark05

Anyway, i like the style of the map, needs some heavy duty work tho. I was mainly impressed when I saw it cuz I actually thought HL2 could handle stuff like this with no problems at all. Hmmm

btw, wuts the deadline for that contest thing anyway?
