Interesting. One of the MS CEO candidates wants to sell off the xbox business. That would be interesting if he took over and actually went through with it so early in the product lifecycle.

Quote from Chimeray
I know that eventually I'll be getting a xbone, seeing some of the videos lately it's not that bad of a console, and I'm sure we'll get some really good first party titles and those are what will make me get the console... but fuck me that's an atrocious UI, i hate it more than I hated the xbox360. Seriously, who thought those horrendous squares would be a good idea.
I feel compelled to having to repost this:

They really need to get rid of that! It looks like it's been design by a 6 year old.
That said, and I repeat, from what I've been seeing the reviews xbone is not as bad of a console as most of us were expecting it to be I guess. I'm not getting one yet as 500$ plus games is a lot of money but down the line, yeah why not.

Yeah Microsoft is unhealthily obsessed with the squares. It works great on touch devices, really not so much on everything else. I think after Microsoft realised it was a big success on phones they got over-excited and decided to implement it literally everywhere because squares.

I don't think this has been posted yet, there's a lot going on right now, so here Adam Sess review of the xbone

Also, Forza 5 review for those who are into car porn!

Yeah it's a shame they tried to apply the tiles concept across all their devices whether they would benefit from it or not. The idea of having a common interface across all devices is admirable but I can't really think of any real world implementation where that's ever come close to working.

Microsoft tiles are not that bad. As with anything that it's different and new it takes some time to get used to it, but after a couple of weeks of using them (in windows
it gets better. You basically just have to look at them the same way you look at the app icons on your iphone, they do the same thing. -

Besides for PC use they are far too big when you have the accuracy a mouse gives. What was wrong with the icons we've been using for god knows how long? They are effectively those icons 10x bigger.
The Metro screen felt like a big cluttered mess to me. Trying to find control panel was a nightmare on my first try

I've disabled Metro and restored the start bar now and I'm much happier. It works on tablets and phones and possibly on Xbox. But please keep that shit off my PC.
