More interesting than the question what Don Mattrick is thinking is to me: who is going to take his seat at Microsoft. I believe there is only one person who can turn that ship around...

    So it's official btw

Cliffy @ MS could be interesting, but right now i'd prefear seeing him doing his own thing.

    Hmmm...

    1) DM -> Zynga...good luck. That's a bit shit sandwich. Wonder if it will change the culture inside the company at all. Pincus is still chairman and will stay on as chief product officer, so not really sure how much impact this will have. The other issue with Zynga is Caesars (the casino company) is the #1 publisher in Social Casino apps which are now a $1 billion annual business on mobile and still rising. Zynga is trying to be a force in this space but the competition is tough.

    2) Cliff to replace Don at MSFT? I just don't know what to say to that...

I think Cliffy going to MS was just a guess, wasn't it?

“On Xbox, the ad is part of the actual experience, it’s not something that is outside. The only difference is that the advertisement we have is quite small and not disruptive so people are not aware of clicking on the banners because they know this is a part of the whole experience on the dash,” said the Senior Digital Art Director/UX Designer.

Sounds like a big mess there. I recently read an article that they have problems finding a replacement because it is such a mess.

They have a really big turnover with their employers so the problem always gets passed

Why do they gather up the press just to say "Kinect is a bit shit, eh? Oh well, we've spent a lot of time on advertisement delivery"?

Id be more excited if it wasn't for Taylor's damning reports of XBLA development on 360...

And for the fact that the devkits will probably still cost thousands of dollars and it'll be the only way to develop for it? I mean, maybe it's been announced somewhere that it's not the case, but I'm dubious about that.

EDIT: My bad, read the article through to the end, awesome if they can allow any console to be a devkit!

Hopefully this helps to substantially cut development costs. Great for indie devs too, I don't know why MS even bothered with their original press conference, they've u-turned on everything they've said anyway.

It's great for indies on paper, but doesn't it also mean that we'll start seeing thousands and thousands of mediocre titles like on Iphones and whatnot?

It was already pretty messy on the xbla (towards the end at least), I wonder how the visibility for 'good' titles is gonna be like...
