So apparently this is gonna be released for $500 bucks... sounds like a recipe for disaster for me.

499 USD = 499 Euro.
Wat. Why does every company seem to do this?

-
i don't get it as well
-
What's really interesting is where Sony is going. The really smart thing is going 399 and then taking the loss, but damn they'd win that early fight.
-
Isn't that because of the cost of living? If you convert 499 USD that would be dirty cheap

It's more than I thought though, weren't they supposed to go cheaper than last gen?

What, why? Dude, it's brand new hardware that will compete against current gen computers. Which cost 1000+$, I don't get people that say this should cost 200$ or even 300$, it's just logistically impossible.
I was always expecting a 400$ / 500$ price for the base models for both ps4 and xbone.
-
Also, I missed the Xbone live feed, any of you got a link for the show?
-
gt will have it in minutes
but HP MG5 is on XBO as weeeeellllll FUUUUUCKKKK what tha fuck SONY was thinking

-
That much was a given since they made a new multiplatform engine?

Most of these launch titles/exclusives probably have astronomical budgets and are going to need to sell 1 or 2 million copies just to break even, how the hell are they going to do that on a new system with zero installed based (yet)?
Not arguing whether the console is worth 200 or 500, just pointing the fact that most of the studios who invested millions in their AAA launch titles aren't going to get that money back... Remember that when the 360/PS3 were released, the economy and the industry as a whole were in a much better shape and AAA games had half the budget they have now...

srsly ? why i didn;t know this ? still i'm angry, i feel broken lol

Revengece is hardly a Metal Gear game.

Yeah, there's a lot of question marks for sure. I guess the goal here is to give people incentive to get these new console during the year 2014 and onwards.
The increased budget's are indeed a big problem. I hope players don't expect every single game to look like a real-time Pixar movie, but something tells me they will, and those expectations can hurt next gen.

Ok, got what you meant

Thinking the same things... about the graphics, people was expecting that even at launch of PS360, thanks to all those sweet CG trailers, "it's next geeen, everything can happen!"

So the PS4 is 399 USD? So £256? Certainly sounds more appealing than the Xbox at £425 (incl. XBL subscription), if I've got those figures right. Just another reason I may convert to Playstation for next gen I guess
-
PS4's hardware also appears to be more powerful, with the GDDR5 and whatnot. It seems Sony will be selling PS4 at a loss, just like they did with the PS3.
-
They always do with their hardware. Sony is earning more with their insurances than with their hardware.
