    Dat name.

Haven't actually read anything about it yet but I'm almost certain PS4 will blow it out of the water.

Contrary to popular belief, Xbox One isn't always online, but does require an internet connection. There is no backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 discs, nor with XBLA games, but Xbox One lets you play games while installing and supports up to 1,000 friends. Xbox One can even update Achievements based on player behavior and integrates new matchmaking tech.

    omfg

Aren't they both running on Windows? what the hell

Xbox 360 was on a PowerPC architecture while Xbox One is on x86, so if Microsoft is cool, it could be backwards compatible with the first Xbox 1, but not compatible with 360.

Not that many technical specs, but... What is that 3 OS running in the background, each one reserving 1GB for its own service? In PC you either have one OS or multiboot, there is no such thing as running two OS at the same time. For ex: in windows there are dozens of services, many of which can be deactivated. Now, what is that triple OS thing?

It feel that MS is moving towards offering games as services idea. Game as a service, you pay for patches, new content, technical assistance, servers to play on. Unlike buy the box and that's all you have to pay for. In other words, focus on services, not on having TOP hardawre that it's expensive in the end.

It felt odd, before the reveal I was telling everyone I was going to get it. Then afterwards, I'm not so sure what I want to do anymore.

None of this surprises me though, if anything then they showed more games than I expected. They had to know that they'd alienate the gamer crowd with this presentation.

Sonys stock went up after their presentation if i remember correctly.

I find this: Sony's PS4 event helps... Nintendo?

And searching this i see a number of titles criticizing the console/event about lack of functions or details.

I'm not into that kind of things, but I think stock market isn't informative in any way: they are just a bunch of people out to speculate at any occasion they get.

Curious, if i was living in the US (or UK) i'd be quite happy, i mean, yes it's a gaming console, but to also have the TV functions in it, without having to buy and shelf another box is pretty neat. (If all that works on-demand - personally i don't even have a tv and don't watch it since many years.)

For how much we post in the dedicated topic, we all watch a lot of movies and tv-shows...

If nothing else, the different strategy between the two giants is more apparent so it should be easier to choose

I literally couldn't care less about all this TV stuff. My TiVo gives me access to more channels than the Xbox would have (because it comes with the cable subscription), lets me access all of my country's On Demand content, and probably has superior DVR capabilities in general. I can't imagine many people in the US and UK don't have a device like this already because cable/satellite providers literally give them away, although I don't know about elsewhere.

I doubt any of the sports TV tie-ins the touted would even work on the UK channels. It seems like that stuff will only work in America?

I'm the same though, my TiVO box from Virgin has more channels than I could ever possibly watch, I'm able to record like 3 channels and watch another at the same time and it has so much on-demand stuff I'm spoilt for choice. Also, I've never moaned about switching channels or connections on my TV. It's literally two button presses and my PS3 is on screen. It's a nice feature but I can't see myself ever using it.
