I actually have zero issue with that. Asset reuse should become a more prevelent thing (as long as the visual style is the same, seriously how many times does the same developer have to make a photo realistic bush), it would significantly help with making games cheaper to produce and let you focus on gameplay and new systems.

That reminds me, in the same interview where Infinity Ward were discussing 'cinematic spec' assets they also described that by producing ultra-detailed assets that are scaled down for each platform it means that they can build a big library of assets to re-use in all their games. It is overall a smart strategy, but that video is admittedly taking the piss lmao. Seriously, what the fuck.

Why is the mouse acceleration so high? I havent played a CoD game since MW2 but I dont remenber it being this high, you move the mouse slightly faster, you're already doing a 360, wtf!! Surely there's a way to tweak this value with a .cfg or something?

There's a menu for that, no worries but the acceleration is turned off by default and sensitivity is fine, I think it's your mouse's DPI problem. Make sure that there's no "in game" mode as I have on my Logitech G400.

Yeah, I'll look into that, it's really freaking annoying. I turned off mouse smoothing but mouse acc is definitely on, I just don't know where it's coming from, if it's windows, the mouse drivers or the game.

Just started watching a walkthrough of the sp, reminds me of 2012 the movie lol Graphics look worse than MW2 for some reason. Seems better than BF4's campaign though...

[edit]Ooooh now it's like COD meets The Last Of Us, Hollywood hills in ruins!

Mouse acc is driving me crazy as well in general. Could be Windows (there's some registry stuff you can download for that "MarkC registry fix" or something it is called). But it might also be your mouse hardware, if you have a laser mouse chances are it's using a type of laser that has standard acceleration built in. Optical mice usually don't suffer from that.

Source: I fucking hate all "gamer" mice I've owned and now use a crappy dell optical mouse that is durable and just reads whatever I do 1 to 1

So, despite the reviews, $1 billion in copies sold (to retailers).

With assets, sure. But an entire animation sequence? Lmao.

Agreed. Btw I've read several times complaints about (supposedly?) shared assets from gamers talking about previous CODs.

Uhhhh... have I got this storyline right..? The army of Venezuela invades the rest of South America (and actually wins..), creates a coalition of all SA countries against the USA, then somehow manages to launch themselves into space, hijack an American defense satellite and launch nuclear bombs at several locations in North America...

so that was interesting, just finished it in one sitting, pretty standard length for a cod game, but it was actually pretty enjoyable. very tight, nice story arc, some pretty decent graffixx considering the engine, gunplay was good, encounters weren't bullshit, a lot of variety in the gameplay. overall it's probably one of the better cod games so far, i'd go so far as to say it was 2nd only to cod4 (if we ignore the ww2 cods).

the hatred surrounding the game seems to purely be down to cod-fatigue at this point which is completely understandable. it goes to show that no matter how good the games are, if you pump out 1 a year then people will get tired of it. and i don't see how far they need to push it in order to make people love it like they loved cod4. with the might of activision and the sheer number of developers working on these projects they could do something really polished and impressive, and definitely fun. i am sure activision/infinity ward have something up their sleeves, as the cod train can't keep going forever, but it's nice to see that they aren't just doing a complete by-the-numbers campaign, even though it would undoubtedly sell just as well.

i'd recommend this to anyone who still has a slight interest in modern fps games, it's not bad at all!
